Just emailed in for my appointment, I really should have called earlier this week. Funny thing is if plans go my way I won't get one in OC since I will hopefully be buy in house in San Bernadino by then.

I think you lack good moral character for moving from OC To Berdo!

Very funny, very funny. Hey to buy a house time to move and there are some very nice places in Chino Hills with all the new developments. The biggest downside is how much money I would wind up spending with Rahaugees just a 5 minute drive away.

The worst part of this change by the 9th, I sold my G26 to a nice gentleman on this site because, nahh I'm never going to get a CCW in the OC.

In case anyone else wants to get an appointment I recommend calling the Sherriff's General Line (714-834-5100) directly and they will take down your info and will get back to you. No ETA or anything like that, just a promise to get back to you someday!
I emailed Melissa Friday morning at 11:35 and haven't heard back yet.

Anybody else who emailed on or after Friday heard back yet? If so, what appointment times were you given?

Your name.

Just tell her you'd like a CCW appointment. She'll get back to you with the next available date.

Many OCSD admin types are on a 9/80 schedule, giving them every other Friday off. I'm not sure, but it could be the case with her.

Classes seem to range from $175 - $200. Initial 2 year license fees are $93.00 for DOJ and $102.22 license fee. That gives you cost of $370.22 to $395.22 plus cost for the 200 rounds of ammo for gun you are qualifying with.

Default Anyone in Orange County able to schedule an appointment for a CCW recently?

Thread has morphed into 'nuts and bolts' - moved to LTC forum.
// Librarian
Been trying to call the CCW License unit number from the sheriffs and all I get is a full inbox. Anyone have any luck with making an appointment in these last few days?

That's a good question, I can't even get their website to load right now. I do think i remember reading "no walk-ins", but it's a little foggy.

Just got through, appt in August. She did say (ominously): I suggest that you watch our website between now and then. Any press releases we put out will be posted there.

As stated above, she might have had Friday off. She's probably coming back to work this morning to hundreds of CCW emails, plus whatever other emails she normally deals with.

Your best best is to email. Just leave your name and number and she'll get back to you with her next available appointment. Her name is Melissa, bellow is her email address:

That is an ominous caveat. Seems they may be thinking the process or requirements could change. At a minimum, it was a reminder that the case is not totally done yet, legally.

I just emailed Melissa for an appoint, judging by how many of you already emailed her I probably won't get scheduled until September LOL! However this would give me time to put some money aside for classes, guns, equipment and all that.

Cheers!

Being it's Monday and she's likely coming back to hundreds of emails, I'd give her the a few hours or the better part of the day. However, everyone who's emailed has said she has eventually gotten back to them.

FYI, I would suggest not being picky when it comes to appointments, that is, if you have to work on your appointment day, take the day off.

Their email addresses do have an anti-phishing scheme embedded in them, so try typing it out vs. clicking on the link. If that doesn't work, it makes me wonder if they took her off line for a while.

EDIT: People are reporting emails bounce regardless of how they're sent. I'm guessing her email box blew up or they shut her down for a while to regroup.

My email to msoto@ocsd.org was not able to be delivered, supposedly email address was not found. My guess is that with so many CCW requests her mail box exploded. This just goes to show how many people want CCWs. I can only hope this turn into votes!

Email add seems to be shutdown.
Whatever I send fails. Wether typing her email add or not.
So I hope they do call as per stated by the lady that answered the phone a while back.

I think that could be the case. Also, their email addresses have an anti-phishing scheme embedded in them. Try typing it out vs. clicking on a link, if you happened to have done that.

EDIT: Other people are saying that the emails bounce, regardless of how they send it. They could be taking time to regroup and shut it down for a while. Plus, someone reported she said (ominously) to keep an eye on their website for any press releases. Makes me wonder if changes are in the works or they're just reminding people that the case isn't finished legally yet.

I think they're realizing they created a monster…
