The polymer 80% if you ever decide to sell or transfer cannot be laser engraved unless you embed a stainless plate first FYI. Read AB 857. If you meant ATF specs then definitely no info engraved on the polymer.

Look at ATF specs for engraving pertaining to polymer firearms. If your not interested in adhering to those specs then go ahead and put on the polymer.

Just a heads up, gun fighter tactical told me they have "a guy" that would do finished 80s. I haven't taken them up on it yet so can't confirm, but iirc they said around $50 per lower.

I used his services several years ago on an 80% lower receiver. He did a great job.

For laser engraving? lol

Another vote here for Charlie, of C4. Even the laser companies recognize him as one of the best laser engravers in the country.

I don't know if I want to use Charlie, He has screwed me over in the past with not delivering 2 ar15 80% lowers I had ordered at a gun show and not delivering an ar10 lower and, also not following through on the build party after I finally went out and got one myself.

Edit: I should also say at the time he wouldn't let me make a deposit when he didn't have them in stock. But I had gotten a receipt to hold my spot in line so to speak, but after the gun show and the time period he said to give him he was unreachable and basically fell off the face of the earth.

If you haven't gotten the work done yet I have used Engraving Pros in La Mesa (http://www.engravingpros.com/) and they do excellent work. Another member mentioned them in a post above located in the Grossmont Shopping Center and the owner does have an FFL. They offer good work and very reasonable prices. However he doesn't like to do laser engraving so while all of his work will meet or exceed BATFE standards/rules he prefers using rotary engraving. The downside is the artwork isn't as good as San Diego Gun Graphics. However the 3 lowers I have had done there have come out excellent.

-1 for SD gun graphics / WCW. Sorry to necro, but this was the main thread that sent me their way. Hey, they might do good for you, but did not do good for me. Just paying it forward as fair warning for the next reader of this thread.

Yes, Robert used to run the Lemon Grove Gun Club in Alpine. Really a good guy.

Why renew this post past the deadline now.Must get serial number from doj and any polymer lower must have 3.7 ounce plate embedded now.
