Tell Me honestly when and where are you going to use an IR laser device. If the SHTF ...at that point your $ would be better spent buying 2K more rounds of ammo.
You convinced me bro. I'm going to ****can my NODs and buy 2k rounds of birdshot since you've said before that's the ultimate in home defense.

It's all good man. You don't know what you don't know. That applies to both NV and other things like ammo selection apparently.

That is my 16in Hodge. I run a OPS Inc M4-S on it.

The switches are key on the MAWL. The ability to easy switch between 6 different IR settings is part of what sets the MAWL apart.
It surprises most people to learn that the output isn't IZLID status- because that's what the IZLID is for. The MAWL was built around a different requirement.
That said, I'd take one over the L3/Insight PEQ for sure.

It seems like a good addition to the laser/illum game, however when it comes to class 1 i dont think it will offer the same level of wowness as its full power restricted counterpart. At least, not enough to warrant $2400

Well...I've taken a load of #5 (point blank) to both legs including perforating my femoral artery. They performed on par with ballistic gelatin tests of ~4" penetration. If they had been buckshot I'd have died.

Birdshot produces relatively shallow but ugly wounds. When you're done with my reinactment, we can't talk about taking it up a leval. Until then, you're just talk.

Nothing special at the moment. Just a Inforce WML and a Crimson Trace Rail master IR.

It's defective! They had a batch of Pro's that don't operate correctly so I'm sending it back to get it fixed.

Default Weapon Mounted Light/Laser Setup Pics

Some people swear that they need more than
.7Mw.

I've used both versions. Blooming on the military version within 50 yards is a hassle. I've used both extensively. 95% the Atpial-C will get the job done.

Now if you are using a heavy weapons platform or a long range rifle. I could see where having more juice is worth it. Perhaps hog hunting in Texas over great distances.

Only when I do my yearly cleaning and maintenance checks. Much easier to see its functioning instead of throwing the Nods on.

Well that upper and Aimpoint have since been sold actually. But it was a true cowitness with the iron sights. For the sake of simplicity I went with a 25 yard zero on the red dot, irons and laser at the time, with intent to eventually push that out to 100. All three sighting systems cowitnessed at 25. No parallel zero for the laser. Nothing spectacular really. The red dot and the visible/ir laser were as one dot looking through the optic (as rare as that would be when using night vision).

Here's a Family Pic of all my now-CA-Compliant Toys

Here's my IR Laser setup on the Accupoint AR, I'm not fond of how much the OTAL gets in the FOV of the optic at lower power settings, but it's nothing that renders it unusable, basically just stop being a little !@# and run your kit.

And here is the T1 lightweight build. I love a 12oclock light setup for any RDO equipped gun, it's the best for low light CQB, absolutely no extra peeking past door frames, backsplashing yourself because you didnt lean out an extra inch or two, etc. So that meant that my IR laser sits on the right hand side, not a big issue, I knew plenty of guys who ran their PEQs like that, including me on my SAW but that's a different weapon system.

RileyS90 that's a nifty little setup there. No IR illumination though? I used to have a similar setup with an OTAL and an m600v until the lack of simultaneous IR illuminator and laser activation got to me. I dig the paintjob though.

Thanks As for ir illumination, I never felt a need for it, tbh a lot of the time on a peq15 it was just another setting that would unintentionally get activated when all I really wanted was the laser. The ir flood on the pvs14 does it for me when I really need it (closed indoors without any ambient light) I picked the otal for 1)weight 2)simplicity 3)price tbh

Just got my OTAL-C (Vis Red Laser) in today.. Just seeing how I'd like it.. Think I'm definitely going to get the OTAL-A (Vis Green Laser).. Might just might throw it in the marketplace in a few days/weeks..
