I'm sure the mud is dried up by now

Takes all the fun out of getting back there

The last Canyon is a mess
Some lazy jerks left their targets trash and debris

Here's the latest on conditions....

Still some water puddles and mud in areas past the large oak tree in the staging area

Large Mud Bog just before the old Double check retreat

Not for any Honda car or Prius.............
And bring some quarters for the car wash on your way home
You'll need them

The rest of the road is actually in Good shape

Now for the Problem,,

In just the few weeks since reopening the area for shooting
It's A Mess

Canyon # 1 looks like a dumpster blew up
Canyon # 2 has lot of wood and pallets shot up
Even a water heater with targets on it

Farther up a canyon strew with shot up aerosol cans everywhere....

Sounds like it's time for a clean up Ron. As usual, my truck will be available for transporting the trash to the Forest Service dumpsters. Also as usual, my supervisory skills gleaned from years of ordering around inmates and deputies will be available since my physical skills for cleaning are kaput.

Met the New LEO Ranger yesterday ,,,,,,,

Yesterday we went out to the canyons to hit some steel
We set up in the 3ed canyon and were taking a break when the Forest Service SUV rolled up

He remembered up from another meeting
Very Nice young Man .........
and I guess the work Cal Guns does proceeds us !

Forest Service likes us Cal Gun folks !!!!!!!!!

He said let him know when we set a date for a clean - up
He'll be there ......

The road out there is a Mess now !!!!!

A Muddy Mess !!!

In front of the old double check retreat is a Huge Mud Bog
At the dog leg turn before going into canyons , It's a Big washout

The road washout before canyon # 1 has Really opened up
We just made it out last night in a 4 wheel drive truck !!!
Back wheel fell into washout !

Just trying to get in and out to shooting spot # 1 was an Adventure ....

Well one good thing the canyons can't get dirty if there is no access.

Well Gang,

It might be a while before we can get out to Bee Canyon

Hwy 74 is Closed East of Valle Vista
At the start of the pepper trees that are in the center meridian

Heard that the River was going over the old cement bridge

Here's a link to some pictures of the road damage higher up ::

They are saying at Least 2 weeks before we can even get to Bee Canyon

The Old bridge substained damage from water going 2 Feet over it

Just talked to Bill / Local orchard owner who lives above Bee Canyon

He was Just allowed to return Home a few hours ago / Got evacuated when the floods started ........

Also said the amount of erosion around the old cement bridge is incredible !!
They have been moving dirt and running heavy equipment over it to ensure it's safe

Bill did say they just had some Snow flying at his place just an hour ago , But it did not stick
melted when it hit the ground
