Oooops! I'm guilty. I didn't check here first. Sorry, but I'm looking forward in living and working in the Bay Area after 22 years in the USAF. I wish I knew that I can bring in some STI frames and other needed handguns, but I am coming from overseas.

Hey gang,

New to the board. At best, my gun collection consisted of:

HK USPf40, RIA 1911 GI (had a kimber 22rf slide for it as well), Charter Arms 38 Undercover(from 71), Kel-Tec SU-16CA, 37 Mosin Nagant M91/30, 47 Mosin Nagant M44, and a Rem 870 Express for trap.

Right now, I have the 2 Mosins, the Rem, the revolver, and a S&W 1911PD that I'm 3 days into the 10 day waiting period. Hopefully gonna pick a USP Expert 45 up in January and then I'll think about building an AR-15 or getting another Kel-tec as money permits.

Hello, another newcomer to this forum. Got my first rifle 32 years ago, and since then have had a number of rifles, shotguns, and handguns. I've been relatively inactive in shooting sports for the last 8 years, but the bug has bitten again, and now I'm getting into it again with gusto.

I've always loved skeet & sporting clays, as well as target shooting, but my primary interest right now is in long range precision shooting as well as tactical rifles. I'm looking forward to taking some courses and entering some competitions. I love handguns too, so I'll be upping the inventory there too over the next year or so.

I treated myself to a Ft. Knox gun safe, which should be delivered any day now.

Finally, I'm setting up a hand loading bench in my shop.

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've been lurking around this forum for a while now, and decided to jump in. Thanks for all the great info. I look forward to learning more from you all.

Oh yeah, right now I have:
A Remington 870 Wingmaster that I got when I was 16 (26 years ago) with a 30" FC bbl, as well as an 18" bbl.
A Remington 700 PSS .308 awaiting an AICS 1.5 stock. This weekend I'll be lapping some Badger rings and mounting a NightForce NXS 5.5 - 22x on it.

I used to have a Marlin Arms lever action 30 30, an old .22, a Mossberg 500 Persuader 12 Ga., and a Stainless Steel Colt Combat Commander .45.

I'm looking to add a 1911 to the collection before long. A little further down the line I'd like to order a .338 LM or .300 WM with a McMillan A5 stock from G.A. Precision. A friend of mine just received his .308 from G.A.P. built with a left handed Nesika action. It's a sweet stick.

I'm new to the forum but have been around firearms my whole life since my dad was an avid shooter. After lurking for a few days, I have found Calguns to be a tremendous source of information on OLL and the intricate topic of Kali legal AR's. I feel well informed now on what I can do to own a legal AR in Kali. I'm planning on purchasing a complete Stag Arms 5.56 lower with bullet button and 10rd mags from LanWorld and using Fort Courage Armory in Simi as my FFL. It should fit nicely on a Colt SP1 upper that I purchased inexpensively a few years ago. Thanks to everyone here for all the great info! I'm going to drop by Fort Courage today to meet Tim and then head up to Wes Thompson's in Piru for a little fun with my 50's vintage Universal M1 carbine, S&W 6906 and a few others.

Default Newbie to Calguns forum

Hi all,

I've just registered to Calguns forum but I have lurked here from time to time. Just want to post in a forum other than AR15.com
I used to be a gun enthusiast years ago but sold everything exept for my M1 carbine, 25 compact pistol, and feathers AT-22 rifle. Well the bug bit me again when a couple of co-workers showed me how I can build off-list rifles. I was like hell yeah after they showed me what they've got and since last year I have acquired a few other firearms.

My name is Ech0Sierra, I joined since misery loves company (AW Ban) and that this place is good for local info. My gun store of choice is either Turner's (Customer Service sucks) or Buckhorn Guns (hole in the wall with pitiful selection).

Cool

I found this site today and was really impressed with all the info available. I grew up with guns in the house as a kid and started a small collection of my own as soon as I was of age. I only get out shooting once or twice a year now, but I still really enjoy it.

I'm looking to expand my collection a bit right now. Especially after reading about the "off list" AR's! I'll probably be asking quite a few questions regarding these in the near future!!!

I just wanted to say Hi!

John

I found Calguns last night while I was doing a search for ammo for an old military rifle. I've been a member of various knife related forums for several years, but this is the first firearms forum I've joined. I look forward to participating here and hopefully I'll learn a thing or two.

Hi everyone!

I just registered after being told about this site by another member. Having just received a CA CCW, I'm really disappointed in the legal weapons restrictions applied by my beloved home state. Hope to learn a lot here.

I'm Steve from Fallbrook; I used to lurk and probably will continue to lurk and absorb the experience.

I own a Bushmaster Carbon-15 TLR that's going to be Dremeled out and turned into an external fixed mag plinker/home defense weapon. I'm ashamed to say I've had it since April and have only put 3 rounds through it since then. I'm lucky enough to be zoned rural so we can shoot on our property, but the neighbors don't appreciate the noise of a .223 and, frankly, I don't blame them.

I'm working on becoming a member of the Rainbow range, but money is absurdly tight right now thanks to both of my cars (my 240SX track car AND my 325iS daily driver) being broken. At least I stockpiled 300 rounds (a pittance, yes, but at least enough to break the rifle in) of .223 before I ran out of money.

I plan on wearing an empty holster to school every day of this semester at MiraCosta College, that is, if the administration will allow it.

Hi every one. Just found this site and I really like it so I dedided to register. I belong to a couple other good sites but this one is more geared to where I live(the socialist republik of kalifornia) lol. But seriously, there is a lot of good info to be had here.
A little info on me, I'm an NRA Life Member and an NRA Certified gun instructor. Let's just say that I have more than a couple of guns.lol I look forward to checking out more of this site.

Hello everyone. My search for an answer to a legal issue concerning transport of handgun led me here. I'm from Alta Loma, CA, a city in the San Bernardino County. My wife and I were recent victims of a burglary. A couple of my guitars got stolen but were immediately recovered. Which led us to believe that we need a firearm (or firearms) for home defense.
Being new to firearms, I am looking forward to getting as much information and technical knowledge from the more experienced members of this community.
Regards.

Hi everyone. My name is Rob I am currently a Sgt in the Marine Corps. I enjoy shooting not only as a hobby but as a means of keeping myself alive in Iraq. LOL. Anyway i figured this would be a great place to meet like minded people who believe our 2nd amendment right has been mangled beyond all recognition and to meet people who are lawful gun owners.

Hello,
My name is Kevin. I'm pretty new in the whole firearms scene but have been fairly interested in firearms for awhile but never found a reason to buy a gun in California unless I liked it. The gun laws and restrictions have mainly cause me to stray away since the prudes ban the AR type, or so I thought they did until tonight. Tonight has become the turning point in which I am highly considering piecing together my own AR type.
As for the general setup, I haven't even scratched the surface of my soon to be intense research, but thought of following the lines of Stag Arms Upper and Lower Receiver if that is even possible (please veteran members clarify and correct me), ARMS SIR Rail system, Magpul stock, Bullet Button for starters. This will probably be my first and only rifle since it's quiet costly to continue indulging myself in this "hobby". Messages are greatly appreciated to help me get started on this daring start in building an AR type. Thank You.

A concern that i have is: is the stag arm receiver semi auto only? if not how would i just get a semi auto lower?

Kevin
