Your price sounds great, but your website doesn't show a physical address, just a PO Box. Where exactly are you located?

Eddy's Shooting Sports just opened up in Mountain View and charges the following for transfers. (Yes, they are related to the old Eddy's Sport Shop)
FFL Handgun transfer $75+ DROS,HSC,etc. This is per gun. FFL Long gun/OLL transfer $65+ DROS. Additional long guns are $25ea. PPT - FREE! Yes, free. You must still pay DROS. PPT guns are required to be in a case or box or one must be purchased. Their store is small but promising. An OK selection of very competitively priced guns that is growing daily. Lot's of everyday accessories and a nice selection of reasonably priced ammo. They've only been open two weeks and have yet to even make a marketing push. They are also slowly bringing in a collection of high end collectible guns on consignment. They are definitely worth checking out. I called Reeds in Santa Clara and they quoted me $75. I will probably be getting 2 rifles in the next month or so and am not looking to spend 75 twice, before the other fees. Does anyone know of any kitchen FFLs or more affordable FFLs in the South or East Bay? Or Anywhere within like 45 miles of Santa Clara? |

SWEENY's in Napa CA
+10 for Sweeny's in Napa CA
This place used to be named "The Last Gun Shop." LINK: http://www.yelp.com/biz/sweeneys-sports-napa Sweeny's 1537 W Imola Ave Napa, CA 94559 (707) 255-5544 Went to Sweeny's to perform a PPT on a Pistol. They follow the law - so a PPT is $35 TOTAL. Very easy to get to from the East Bay - only 1/2 hour from Concord They're the first exit once you enter Napa, right after you pass the HUGE statue on the hill of the guy pressing grapes. Take Hwy 29 to CA 121 N/W Imola Ave towards Lake Berryessa. They're about 1/4 mile off of Hwy 29. I must have passed this place 1,000 times and never knew it was there. Now I'm glad to add it to my list of "must visit" when I'm in the area! I have relatives from Sweden that always want to visit Napa Wineries when they come to the PRK, so now I can take them to a Hunting and Fishing store as well - a little break for the men as well as the Tour Guide ;-) They have a good selection of pistols, rifles, ammo, cleaning supplies, and reloading equipment. Reloaders - Sweeny's has lots of Powder, Brass, Bullets, Primers, etc.. And if you're a fisherman, this place is well worth your while to visit - they have it all! Lake, Bay, Surf - rods, reels, lures, line, nets, etc... It's how I remember bay area sport fishing shops used to be before places like Wal-Mart ran them out of town. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and knowledgeable. Very low pressure and they let you browse to your hearts content. Last edited by general_disarray_prk; 06-20-2012 at 10:27 PM.. |

I have dealt with 2 great table top FFLs.
1.Pacific Coastal Firearms in Anaheim Hills, CA $50 dros included - basically $25 + dros http://pacificcoastfirearms.com/ 2. Steve Foster at OC firearms in Fountain Valley, CA 92708 $50 transfer fee + $25 Dros. Cut me a deal on multiple firearms transfered at once. |

Jicko, could you add Bullets and Brass, LLC in Gilroy? We are by appointment only and our fee is $55 for transfers. The DROS fee is included this price. ($25+10 DROS, $20 transfer fee)
We collect tax for out of state purchases.

The DROS fee is $25, not $25 + $10. For a PPT, A FFL can charge a fee of no more than $10. This means your fee would be $25 DROS + $30 transfer fee, for a total of $55. You can not misrepresent the DROS fee, which based on your wording could be an issue.

For non-PPTs, there is no limit on what a FFL can charge. So, your saying "$10 dealer fee is what is permitted" only applies to PPTs, and with that you can't charge the $20. You can charge that way, but there is no reason to break it out like that, as long as you don't represent the DROS fee to be anything other than $25.

New FFL in Escondido, CA - San Diego County
Hi Jicko,
Nice to meet you. My name is Brian Ambrose and I'm a new FFL in Escondido, CA. I'm a disabled vet and got tired of sitting behind a desk so I got my license and am up and running. Can you please add me to the list of FFL and thier fees? My store is by appointment only until I get my pension then I'm full time at the store. But call or email me anytime, I'm up late and actually answer my emails and phone after hours. My fees are $30 for transfers for pistol and long guns. For multiple long guns, I charge $30 for the first, $20 for every one after that. No limit. I'm the lowest cost transfer FFL in the county. I'm not kidding either. Most are $75 and up. Thanks, Ambrose Armory Escondido, CA 92029 760-517-6486 www.ambrosearmory.com sales@ambrosearmory.com |

There's a Bakersfield FFL listed in the very first entry in the table in the very first post of this thread. You got to involve yourself here, put out a little effort, be a little interesting, use some charm and at the very least mind your manners. Folks don't like to come running when you snap your fingers. At the least, mess around some with the Search Function, figure out what works and what doesn't. Try the 'Google Search' under the Search button at the top of the page.
