One of the most accurate handguns out there. Been in the family for years. I upgraded a bit with ambidextrous safety and Pachmeyer grips.

Just picked up this Colt 01970a1cs 70 series today and had the Nutmeg Ivory grips here ready to slap on, it was a total impulse buy but Oh Well!!! pictures are poor quality due to a lack of skill with cameras. HappyDaze

I posted these in that other 1911 gallery before I noticed this Colt specific one.
My 1918 M1911, Delta Elite (harsh lighting), and Gold Cup National.

My '78 Gold Cup, hard chromed, re-barreled with a Bar-Sto, rear sight by Bomar and custom front, all work by the late Jim Boland of Van Nuys. Updated with a W/C hammer, beavertail, and internals by me. Still a great shooter.

After years of agonizing over whether I should try running a few rounds threw my M1911 I finally gave in and did it. However, before doing so I went over her what must have been a hundred times, then installed a new recoil spring and a shock buff.

She performed BEAUTIFULLY! The sights were dead on and there are no signs of any trauma. She's 96 years old and still performing.

I picked up a used Combat Commander for a good price. Like NIB. Not bad...

It works. 30 rounds of UMC ball at 20 yards.
