Default I.E. Reloading Workshop

Workshop 2.0

We will be holding another reloading workshop in riverside on July 20th at 8 am. We will be covering the basics:

Equipment (presses, scales, powder dispensers, measuring devices, etc)
Brass prep
Powders/primers (discuss different types of powders and their properties and different types or primers)
Loading techniques (process for straight walled pistol cartridge vs bottle-neck rifle cartridges, etc.)
Reloading Safety (common safety considerations, and things to never ever do)

After the brief introduction to reloading and safety, we will jump on to the presses and get loading. I know components are scarce so I have sourced components for the class in a few common calibers:

9mm
.40 S&W
45 ACP
.223
.308
30-06

If you do not have components and use the components sourced for the class, there will be a $30 reimbursable fee(the cost of the components). Keep in mind however that you will be going home with a box of ammo. If you have components for something other than those listed above bring them and there will be no reimbursable fee.

You have my interest although I am not really interested in learning any new calibers since I already do .45 and 44 mag. Ahh ya know what, Maybe .223 and .308 would be nice to see with my precision mics that I have. I am in Riverside too, where part of town are we talking about here?
I can provide comic relief and something for folks to point and laugh at

I think it is fine if we keep it small for the first time yes? Word of mouth might make it get real big real fast.

I have been reloading for over a year now. Started with 9mm, went to 44 mag, then down to 45 acp. Now I am looking at maybe moving to a rifle or 10mm/40

0o0o0o Solus sounds good. Glad to see it has been working out for yas.

I need to clean some more brass but I have been depressed lately after seeing some of those bills NOT get killed... Asshats want to hit reloaders now? All the more reason to get folks into reloading and buy components out of state.

It would be in the woodcrest area near the intersection of washington and van buren.

Wow. Ten minutes away from my house even... If you know how to use the precision mics for .308 and .223 then that would be cool. I thnk people talked about it here before but with my short attention span I think I opened up another window and started watching you-tube videos or something. :\

I opened it up and had a look and I saw a lot of words. They were many and small and it made my head hurt to look at them. So I put it back and decided that when it was time for me to learn how to do that, then I would learn how to do that, until then, I will find other things to do.

We can get you going with your mics, they seem more complicated then they really are .

Do any of the people attending already have components? I am working on acquiring components so that each student would be able to reload a box of at least one of their chosen calibers (there will be a reimbursement for the components since I am buying them out of pocket).

Please PM me about a day or two to make sure that I am coming, (because I COULD forget).

Also, I think I can contribute some brass or what not. Are you hurting for any common pistol calibers such as .45, 40, 38, 9, 22lr ?

I have not sorted it out, but I know I got some sp and lp .45 brass...

I will have a look and see about getting my .223/.308 dies and shell plates in case I am missing something.

Should I bring my killer Lee Breech Lock Handpress to show how to decap while doing anything for wet process?

Also, any brass I bring, should it be clean? dirty? decapped already? what is the preference? I aint just gonna show up and sit around distracting everyone, I will at LEAST contribute something. got a busted computer you need fixed while I am there? ;U (I really hate this one ==> )

How did your first reloads shoot?

We're you nervous to pull the trigger the first time?

Have not had a chance to shoot them yet. I am sure it will be a delight. Quite curios to see how they group compared to the Walmart WWB 115 grain.

For all of you guys thinking about reloading, here's your chance. No investment of time or money. Hands on instruction. There are guys paying for these workshops all over the country. This may be your only chance to get this kind of info.

Exactly, its a risk free opportunity to give it a try.

Also I updated the first post with some more details, notably:

-I am asking for a $15 donation per student to help cover the cost of pizza and drinks
-We will have components for your use if you don't have any for a $25 per box of ammo fee

If you have any questions please let me know.

Well, as long as your name aint James Bond I think the levers in the car will be fine.

I think we can manage a "smoke" break every hour or so for yas.

Besides, I know of this area and if it is SOUTH of van buren, then there are plenty of shade trees over there.
