Question Anyone ever caught trout using a lure that makes noise?

Has anyone caught a trout using a lure that makes noise?

I do not mean regular spinners that may make some noise. I mean the ones that are deliberately designed to rattle. Some bass crankbaits are designed to make a lot of noise. They have topwater lures with propellers that act similar to putting a card in the spokes of your bicycle wheel. They also have some with BBs inside to create a rattling noise.

I have never caught a trout on one of those lures. I think the noise scares away the fish. Has anyone caught a trout on a noisy lure?

Yeah. I don't remember who made them but mine had a little BB in the body that rattled; caught lots of trout before I lost it.

Thanks

I have not had any luck with noisy lures on trout. That is why I asked. I guess I should keep trying.

I have success with either floating or countdown Rapala lures.

Rapala Xrap s kill large Browns In the Sierra rivers ,Also trolling lakes every type of Rapala and Rattle trap up to about 4 or 5 inches . Have even Caught a number of Salmon in the Delta with the White Xrap in 8 or 10 size . For some reason they really like white .

Tell you a story of how Trout are afraid of Noise . My Brother and I are hiking along a Narrow section of river 20ft across trout fishing . He throws his lure in a tree above the water . He proceeds to cut this branch to get his lure the branch lands in the water with a big splash . The current pulls it about 10 ft out so he finds a dead stick ties a treble hook on the branch and and slaps the surface of the water trying to hook his lure .He finally succeeds in hooking his lure . But the branch will not pull free just up . Out of the water about 3 ft so he shoots a couple 12 gauge shells at it . The lure comes free with a couple ft of branch hooked to it and he drags it out . I'm laughing at all this. I say ok I'm going up river to next spot . He says wait for me to tie up . Fine I'll wait . So I Throw My Lure 15 Ft Down and 20 ft across this River IN thIs AREA where ALL This Had JUST HAPPENED AND HOOkED A Nice Brown .

Berkley flicker shad, trolled or flipped and retrieved in eastern Sierra lakes. Kills'em. What?

Occasionally in the spring, I pick up a trout or two while trolling Rattle Traps for white bass in the narrows of Lake Nacimiento.

I suck at fishing and don't fish much so this doesn't mean much. But I seem to have really good luck on those Thomas buoyant spoons in trout.

A chartreuse Vibrax spinner always worked pretty well for me when trolling shallow for spring trout and salmon in the foothill lakes.
