Anyone think an EMP blast would/could kill an electric lock?

I was concerned it might and it was just another reason I went with a mechanical dial on mine.

Any other Cannon gripes?
None here. I LOVE my Cannon safes. My original has had a digital lock that has never failed in the ten years I've had it.

They make damned good safes, and I love their warranty. Highly recommended!

lol, sorry I missed your reply earlier.. yep that's the same thing or close enough inside I'm sure..

long time ago, I was warned in this thread about them http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=712613

only thing positive about it, whatever time they spend getting in to those two, takes time away from either of the full size..

I still tend to believe the amateur thug or petty thief is not aware of all of that, and the more versed ones wouldn't waste their real time on one

thanks for the reminder, really should replace those with something more resistant..

A fairly common concern.

There are EMP-resistant electronic locks. They've been around a few years in commercially available form - they've been around for government longer.

Buy S&G Electronic Device. Had mine for 4 years. Very noticeable when a batter replacement is needed (avg. - ~2 years)

I have 2 safes. One has an electronic lock for daily easy access. The other has a dial for SHTF.

I was assured by my commission based sales concierge at the safe boutique that anything less than their high end products would be no better than a cardboard box. So no offense, but I will rely on the advice of experts over some random people on the internet. My concierge Chaz included a year of tech support when I upgraded to the high sheen lacquered clear coat, anti corrosion overspray, and hand stitched leatherette trim in the interior.

Amsec designs their own e-locks, some have been rated for over 1 million openings.
