A Well Regulated Militia is you and your neighbors training. If their are untrained folks in your community why aren't you training them?

Cos of Chevron deference (courts defer to government)
Dumbest legal principle that exists next to rational basis (if u can rationalize it, it's legal) and stare decisis (because this court made a dumb decision 100 years ago we are bound by it).

You should read about what prompted the Mulford Act. It was the early days of ACAB. You young guys probably thought this was a new thing.

I'm not condoning the passage of it, but a bit of history is probably in order before judging.

No, their job is to minimize the idea that the people have any real freedom. Their priority is to keep as many laws in effect as possible. That's why they have things like levels of scrutiny or protect long standing laws.

As a retired bailiff (30 years), I can attest to this.

Slow but steady progress is being made on the CCW front.

You know, though, SCOTUS is supposed to be different from other courts in the sense that it IS their job to determine if a law SHOULD exist rather than lower courts who, to a larger extent, are there to determine if existing laws have been broken or not. I realize this is an oversimplification but I see where the other post was going with their disagreement to my earlier statement.

I think where I get concerned regarding SCOTUS and the 2A is feeling like even conservatives are starting to look at anything that makes guns and ammo harder to obtain and use as being better for public safety and therefore don’t care to look at the law with the correct scrutiny afforded to other constitutional rights.

Very disappointed.

I’d feel better if I wasn’t in an “exceptionally good cause” county.

I’d be fine if they made me go through the same training as someone in LE to get it. Not that I think that should be a requirement but I’m just saying.

Angry Infringement! ...Must Be a Governmental Right

This is getting to the point of ridiculous.
In LA you can’t get a ccw, you can’t open carry,
You can’t buy new guns that aren’t on the roster,
And now you need a background check to buy ammunition.
I’ve joined the NRA, donated to NRA, Filled out surveys, and written to Senators and congressman only to be politely dismissed.

How the hell is this not infringement.
I know I know I’m preaching to the choir
But I needed to Rant

Thanks to people having events all over the place and enticing law enforcement in a state that uses any reason to ban anything gun related.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

IIRC, Heller affirmed the right to carry outside the home. There are only 2 types of carry, concealed and open. If you can't have one, the other is by default - allowed.

So the latest decision just overrode the Supreme Court.

I remember a bunch of idiots, running around open carrying, scaring the sh&% out of people protesting gun laws, such fools.

No.

And, wrong thread - this is about a carry case, not magazines,

Chronicles paywall blocked that view.

But, on Aug 31, Mueller gave plaintiffs 21 days to amend complaint. I’m sure there will be time for responding briefs. She also required a joint status report within 30 days. So, Baird doesn’t seem to be moving to hearing anytime soon.

This is just a ruling for a stay on open carry pending the Hawaii vote, it was never going to have any movement on its own. We will see how things look after 9/24

BEHOLD! Perhaps they are aware of my political views? (Sorry for the fuzzy quality...had to run it through paint).

Granted the first paragraph noted a California judge, but I got nothin' after that.
