Default 2 Q's on ammo purchase and transportation

Long time rifle and shotgun hunter, new to handguns. Google search isn't turning up a direct and clear answer for me, everything I'm finding is turning up info on the new ammo buying law beginning in 2018. Is it presently (march 2017) legal to order 9mm handgun ammo online (sportsmans guide, cabelas, etc) and have it shipped to California? Are there restrictions on quantities? I live in Folsom, Ca which is in Sacramento county. I'm hoping to stockpile a few thousand rounds of simple 9mm target ammo. Most websites that sell ammo simply say to check your local regulations but I'm not sure where to find those regulations that are written in simple terms.

My second question has to do with transporting ammo in my vehicle. I drive a pickup with no lock on the glove box and no locking storage box in the bed of the truck. If I have my unloaded and cable locked handgun in it's locked case under the back seat how should I transport the ammo? Does it have to be stored and locked as well?

You can just pour the ammo in the bed and drive around with it for all it matters.

Unless there are local restrictions on ammo deliveries, the state law allows ammo delivery until next year.

Default is one of my favorites, plenty of other places online like it. Get on it, or get left behind. 60% of voters thought keeping you from your ammo was a good thing, so you're behind the 8-ball. You should be good in Folsom.

Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Out of state purchases will be the norm, IF this crackpot law ever gets into action. NY tried it and failed, if those libs couldn't make it work, what makes anyone think the minds of Excremento can?

Ammo will just be another form of contraband, like an orange from Florida or some firecrackers from Nevada. California is going to need to build it's own wall to keep this stuff out.

... and if you use a locked case (required),the cable lock is not necessary

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.

Not a lawyer, just Some Guy On The Interwebs.
