Received mine, and CFARS changed my password without notifying me so that I could not recover it. Despite following their password rules to a tee (and using letters not in my first or last name at all), the form fails. Good job CA.

What about those who haven't heard boo from DoJ? When will they get approved?

Not meaning to sound snarky. It would be helpful if DoJ would at least respond to the submission.

I'm not trying to stick up for the DOJ. It's just that we need to stick it out. If as some have said here that The DOJ is stretching this out so they can deny registration, then we need to band together and hire a law firm and make them explain in open court why the holdup. I will gladly donate to such a lawsuit.

If this was a Government Dole Program the Liberal Retards would be all over this with the excessive delays and pollywagging complete results.

They were able to get all of my local Kinders barbecues to make Non-Binary Sex Bathrooms in less than 3 months but...

…….they hire a huge staff for 12 months that get nothing much done then cut them all after they consumed and syphoned all of the appropriated money to them and them friends then cut the staff to bare bones that can not get anything done.

Probably part of the gungrabber fanatics plan to consume all the money on the front end when there is not much to do thus the perfect job for the relatives and friends and chronically unemployed relatives.

OK so as a followup after changing my address I got 7 emails from CFARs putting my registrations into incomplete. I got an email for each one stating that I needed to update address and an email for all of the ones with caliber marked "multi" to select interchangable barrel. I also got one for the Noveske that states a feature is marked wrong but they dont say which one. I have a hunch its that I marked an angle grip as a forward grip but I dont know.

So I guess if youve been waiting awhile with nothing you can tell them you're moving and they will review your application.

One of mine is a HK93 clone that has a bullet button, but the paddle release is still there (but non-functional). They asked for clarification on that.

Would it be prudent to send a video that demonstrates that the paddle doesn't work, or just point out that it doesn't?
Just tell them in the comments section that the paddle release is disabled and purely cosmetic.

I logged into the CFARS website and notice my application is listed as incomplete with comment : Please update the acquired from field with the CA dealer information where you acquired the firearm.
I thought I am suppose to list the out of state dealer I purchase the firearm from. But it seems they want the CA dealer who did the DROS ? Is that correct ?
If that's true, how can I find out who was the dealer from the automated firearms system record request ?
Thanks in advance.

yes, you need to select who did the DROS

I don't believe AFS says that anywhere, sadly

My recommendation if you really have no idea who the FFL was:

If the gun was purchases pre-2014, just take your best guess, to the best of your recollection. DOJ won't know where you bought it, so they'll have to just accept what your best guess is.

If the gun was post-2014, then DOJ should know who the FFL was, but getting them to tell you might be tricky. They tend to be VERY unhelpful about that - they often just tell people their answer was wrong, but refuse to say what the right answer is supposed to be. But it's worth a try.

Since you bought it from an out-of-state seller, and transferred it through a CA ffl, I'm guessing the internet was involved with this transaction? If so, it might be worth digging around through your emails to find the order/communications to see what address it got shipped to.

So they requested a picture of a caliber marking on a rifle that has no caliber marking on the barrel. What's the best course of action for that?

Just explain that there is no caliber stamp. After going back and forth about it 2 or 3 times, eventually they just accept your answer and push it through.

After two sets of incompletes I changed the barrel with one that had a markings to satisfy the CFARs non binary sex person.

Problem is CFARS is using BATFE marking requirements for manufactures that must put the caliber on their completed firearms when self assembly types can assemble a firearm without markings.

I have read a this big long thread of maybe two? folks explaining they self assembled and there is not such caliber mark on the barrel, upper or lower receiver, bolt and that's because it was self assembled. Give that a go. If that does not work change the barrel, or as I read from another poster on this big ol' thread take a picture of a barrel on another firearm that had such markings.

GOOD LUCK!

Bro, I barely know how to field strip this damn thing. Changing out a barrel is going to be ... interesting. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Here's an interesting timeline:
5/28/2018 - Initial registration for my wife and I
7/6/2018 - I had to make corrections on my registration
7/10/2018 - I got my letter
9/26/2018 - My wife got letter to make the same corrections I had to make on 7/6
10/4/2018 - My wife got her letter

I have no idea why hers and mine were not processed at the same time.

Thanks for the advice. Fortunately I found the DROS record post 2014.

Don't stress - if they need you to update your app, they will mark it as "incomplete" in your C-FARCE transaction history.

As long as everything says "in progress", then you're fine, and you didn't miss any important emails. Just keep waiting, and checking your transaction history at least once every 2 weeks.

Like many others, I updated my app in mid-august (2 months ago) and haven't heard a peep since then.
