Default Deployed Guys: Need Any ****?

One of my buddies who is still in deployed about a month ago and I put together a little care package for him. I also took a close up picture of my junk, printed it and placed it on top so if it doesn't get removed in transit that will be the first thing he sees.

Anyway I was wondering if any of you who are deployed or deploying soon need anything and this thread can be used to send you guys ****. Some of my family volunteers once a week to put together care packages but I know all that **** gets sent to Bagram or other big *** FOBs where they don't need it so I'd rather send to specific guys. I don't know if you'd want to post the address or not but I guess you can PM me and anyone else who posts in this thread on what you want and your address and I'll do my best to get a package together. I probably won't send you a picture of my junk though so that's either good or bad news for you.

I was thinking about this a few days ago, and since it's the holidays care packages are in full force. Too bad little old grandmas have no idea what servicemembers like.

"I'll send those boys some hotel shampoo and my old romance novels." seems to be pretty common.

When I was in Afghanistan and Iraq, my wish list was as follows:

Maxim magazines
AA and AAA batteries
International phone cards (AT&T worked the best through camp Doha)
Non-chocolate candies (think desert heat)
Boot bands
550 cord
Duct tape
Fast food sauce packets (Arbys, McDonald's BBQ or sweet n sour, taco bell fire, bk zesty sauce)

That said, I'm down to send a package or two to our deployed guys also. Let us know!

Will the fast food condiments like ketchup and such burst during flight?

Its been a while since I photographed my junk for buddies. I found a camera I had on deployment in 05 the other week, had it developed and told my wife, "I'm not sure what's on this so be ready."
Sure enough, several of my Marines had photographed their junk for me.

we got a couple that were crushed (the sauce cup type, not the packet type) so i would suggest you send out condiments in ziplock baggies.

And don't bother trying to send anything aerosol. shaving cream and electronics-spray-cans always got confiscated.

We have an adult bookstore in el cerrito. I'm sure i can find an inflatable sheep to send. Who wanted the package?

I would take whatever you guys want to send, I hope to be home before my Bday (7 Jan) but dunno if it will happen or not.

Sending some of the fast food condiments would be awesome, any and all will be welcomed!

Things that go quickly here:
-]Pop tarts-any flavor
-Oreo Cookies-Double stuffed are the best!
-Cereals- Fruity pebbles, Capt Crunch etc...
-Chips- Doritos, Cheetos (There are no chips at any DFAC and the BX sells out instantly when in stock).
-Twinkies or Zebra cakes (thanks for the reminder!)

What I always asked for:

-Beef Jerky
-Nice underwear and socks
-Candy of my choosing
-Maxim
-Gourmet licorice

My wife would send me a 16g flash drive with new movies/shows and naked pics on it. I would download those and send it back. She would then load it up and send me more. It worked really well with 2 flash drives always moving.

If you send a package, make sure you fill the box so it doesnt break open and spill out!

I always liked hot sauce, cause i put that **** on everything- BBQ was nice to mix it up with the MRE's. I was the king of making stuff with the MRE's...

Costco sized Beef jerky

Mags (maxim, car and driver, guns and ammo)

I always had my parents send **** loads of ramen noodles and tuna in the packets, not the cans. Oh and broth packets.

I loved aa and aaa batteries- in the beginning of my service we just had CD players and those things ate batteries like they were going out of style... now with most things powered by proprietary batteries it probably isn't as big of a deal.

Skittles, licorice, hard candies - i was in north eastern Africa a lot, so no chocolate

Nice Underwear and Socks- the moister wicking type (underarmor)

Baby wipes and purell- might as well have been cash

Somebody tell a civilian how to get this done... I was just about to throw away two years worth of MAXIM I have laying around. I'd be happy to throw in some beef jerky, pop tarts and baby wipes.

Shipping out the 2 packages today was my first time also. Easiest way I can figure go to the post office and get their large flat rate boxes, the advantage of these is that it doesn't matter how much it weighs, it ships for about $15 bucks. Once you have it packed go to USPS.com and register for an account if you don't have one. The advantage of the USPS account is that when shipping it will require custom's forms and declarations. Having the USPS account it will fill all that info in and print it out for you and all you have to do it just take it to the post office afterwards. No need to fill out any forms in triplicate or however many copies they require.

I'm in Kandahar so don't need any of the food stuff, it seems as though we get plenty of junk food. Unfortunately I'm in a trans unit and they still believe in giving us M-16 A2's that are large and suck, not even rails. They also give us ****ty USGI magazines that also suck. If anyone has magazines or stuff to convert an A2 to a rail type system or collapsible stock that would be awesome!

Ok, so I'm registered at USPS and reading the tips, rules, restrictions, etc. and see the "No Pork Products" restriction. WTF? That just pisses me off.

As for the no porn rule, how far do they go to check? Should I put a Maxim or Wired cover over a Playboy and see if it makes it?

When I was deployed my two dream gifts were hometown newspapers and CD recordings or podcasts of my favorite radio stations.
