Seems durable enough for the cost and no guards allows it to fold arms out of the way and into a phone sized rectangular package - I like it.

So light it does get blown around but plenty of videos on Youtube show outdoor flights.

I thought all drones came with blade protectors. The two I have both come
With them.

I donít think the Furibee F36 even weighs 1 ounce but can be flow outdoors way better than this thing.

For $40 I wasn't expecting something that follows and outruns me on a dirt bike or jet ski with sound and 4k video, hahah.

If you have a bunch of other routers in range they will connect every time the battery timeout turns the drone off... you will need to turn off "auto-join" from each internet wifi router in your phone if want the drone to auto-join after you power it on each time.

Mine did that for the first couple times it turned off, then I figured it out. It was my phone, not the drone.

You guys are so picky. I can only imagine that the other drones you play with must have insane AI or a support guy that comes to your house with it, heheh. That's awesome. Please post models and prices so we can all buy these sub-$100 drones that are perfect

What's a good one that has 1080P video with decent sound / MIC and is relatively impervious to wind?

My coworker has a DJ II Mavic Pro. It's pretty badass. I wanna get good first before buying a drone like that. I'd hate to crash land it or lose it.

Well I got one. I fully charged both batteries, the first one lasted about 30 seconds and the second lasted maybe 90 seconds. Charged them both again, neither lasted a full minute. Returning Monday.

I have been having fun with it... not sure how people got batteries that last 30 seconds or 90 seconds. I'd suggest they don't know how to use the charger, but don't want to insult anyone. Batteries take quite a while to charge, but running two in a row gets me long enough flight times where I am ok with taking a break and charging them both... three or four batteries would be cool, but two is pretty nice.

Yeah it is a toy, but it shoots pretty nice video and has some great features for $40. Easy to fly and tough. Nothing broken yet and I've dropped it from 20-30 feet a bunch and run the blades into everything. Would have thought something would have broken off by now having flown cheapo mini quads before and broken a few.

Excellent drone. But maybe wait a bit... DJI may announce/launch the replacement for it (Mavic Pro II) in March, and the price of original Mavic Pro's will fall. But that doesn't make them any less excellent products - only less expensive! BTW: This shop is selling refurb Mavic Pros on eBay for $669. I bought one, and honestly can't tell it from brand new.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Mavic-P...YAAOSwRaRZurBI

But BEWARE BUYING "CHEAP" DRONES!!!

I bought a Parrot Bebop 2 as my first drone after reading this marketplace thread:

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ighlight=bebop

I used to fly RC airplanes and hadn't done so for a while. Had never gotten into drones, but figured for the $240 why not try it out.

Long story short - The Bebop 2 taught me that flying modern drones is fun and easy, and my mind started opening up to ideas as to where I could fly and film.

And my bank account has been dropping dramatically ever since! Thanks a lot Darto for that link to the Bebop 2 sale!

Youíre right, I am sure it was completely my fault for plugging them into the supplied charger cord and letting them charge overnight. Obviously Iím a fool for relying on the light on the charger cord to tell me when charging was complete, as stated in the instructions. I should have plugged it into the cigarette lighter in my delorean and drove it up to 88 miles per hour to achieve the 1.21 jiggawatts required to properly charge them. I feel so stupid.

Just thought of another use.........

Hoover in back of me so I can see to cut the trim line when shaving the back of my neck.

Or put a blade on a blade and get closer

And hope a gentle breeze doesn't come along

For all of you interested in a pretty sweet drone at only $22 on Amazon, check this one out:

https://www.amazon.com/UDI-U818A-2-4...keywords=drone

I read most of the reviews (4k mostly positive reviews, some with pics, videos, and upgrades) prior to purchasing, not thinking this thing is worth a damn at that price, but it is pretty sweet and damn near indestructible!!! I bought one for my little girl and she loves it, even comes with a built in lights, camera (haven't tried yet), and the controller is actually of decent build quality. I liked it enough to buy a few as birthday gifts for a few nephews.....at around $20 (free shipping with prime) it was worth the gamble for me and I was pleasantly surprised.

Sounds like its really a pet dog that takes off running when you tell it to come back and go home.

Well at least there are no plastic bags you have to carry to pick up the Drone Droppings.

The thing started going the wrong way so I hit the return home/land button. The thing took off and refused to land. Haven't seen it since. No fun! Ha-ha. My suggestion is buy this or something cheap to play with first. Don't forget to write your name, address phone number on it.

I ordered the drone in the OP along with an extra battery & blades.
Battery & blades arrived today but no drone.
One confirmation letter has the drone and parts.
Another letter with no drone (wasn't charged for it).
Is the drone worth $100?

I donít really feel stupid, I would only feel stupid if I couldnít detect sarcasm on a web forum. I did everything right, I have several other drones. This was just a POC so I returned it.

No doubt everyone's experience won't be the same no matter what we are talking about. These Holystone guys must have horrible QC. Some got two working batteries, some got two bad ones. Some people got drones that hover and are easily trimmable right there on the D-pad, some don't work at all. I got lucky apparently. I wonder how many other people got a good one.

I talked to Amazon customer service.
They told me to purchase the drone at the $99.99 price then call them back when it arrives. They will reimburse me the $60 difference.
