Default Clueless on slings, need help

I currently own a few AR15's and weight has never been a problem and me being just a range guy I never felt need for sling. When go to BLM land I can hold my AR 15's up all day and fire standing no problem.
Fast forward to I now own an AR 308 16" and love it off sand bag on bench but I have a 1-4x Trijicon Accupoint scope on it and at 1x it truly gets me on target pretty much as fast as my Eotech. But with the scope on it comes out to around 10.7 lbs. I know nothing about slings. All I know is around my house when holding up my AR 308 it can get tiring after just a minute or so. Yes yes I know, hit the gym more, but in the meantime, are there slings that are made to "lighten" the rifle in standing position (or any position for that matter)? My AR 308 is pretty front heavy and just wondering if I had the proper sling set up if it would take some of the weight off when holding up and acquiring target. Thanks in advance for any input.

+2... even the victory from BFG is great! I have one an my AR and LOVE it... I ended up with a VTAC/Troy adjustable sling for AK, but the Blue Force Gear is so much quicker, simpler, clutter-free; I wish I would have got another for the AK instead of the VTAC.

Look into an old school USGI web sling. I use them all the time with my AR's for shooting the 3 positions. Check the Appleseed websight to buy them and see how to use it properly.

I have 1 set up with the push button QR swivels and can run it as a 2 point across the chest sling, or disconnect it from the stock and use it as a loop sling for a very stable shot. I probably should post photos to help explain it better.

I can't remember the name of it, but there is sling adapter that let's you go from single point to two point sling. For someone with little sling experience what I would recomend. This way you experience both.

The 1/2 point adaptor is in this thread about single/double convertable slings.

Its the IWC 2-1 point Triglide, I linked it in another thread earlier. I haven't tried it out yet, but I have a couple of sling mounts from IWC that I'm very happy with.

As always, all your insightful responses are much appreciated. I will try a couple options and see if it will help"stabilize" it a bit better so doesn't feel so muzzle heavy when shooting. If a sling just even helped a little as far as taking some of the weight off my front arm I will be thrilled. My M1A Scout which I believe weighs 8.5 lbs empty is more than manageable but that extra 2 lbs on my AR 308 really makes a difference. thank you

you gotta have a sling. Its hard to be a rifleman with out one.

All my fighting rifles have slings and bayonets, it just part of my philosophy.
