Amen. They are definitely trying hard.

I too had 14 days of no permit. Of course, that kept me in the house for the entire time except for 2 trips out of the house. (Although using the spray and knife suggestions here...) But considering how bad it could have been, and was for some others? Yep. It was easy...

San Diego County CCW Timeline
Just to be clear for those looking...

This is the timeline for a renewal. I believe appointments for new permits are being scheduled for 6+ months from application submission (unless called early of course).

I started the San Diego CCW process last year. Here's my timeline:

Oct 24, 2019: Called for CCW application appointment. Was given 5/13/20.

Mar 3, 2020: Received call to submit entire CCW application online through Permitium & submitted all docs that same day (had them ready).

May 13, 2020: Interview appointment moved to Jul 20, 2020 due to Covid-19.

July 20, 2020: In-person appointment; fingerprinting & photos. Was told that I'd hear back (yes or no) within 90 days.

Still no word. It will be 90 days on Sunday, Oct, 18.

I seem to recall SD Sheriff's office say that they "had" to notify within 90 days. Can someone clarify this? I'm going on 1 year from date of first call, and am wondering if I need to contact them on Monday.

I remember Jessica telling me that they must notify within 90 days. My notification was around 30 days last June/July. Took another month to be issued my permit after I completed the class. Couldn't hurt to call. Have you checked Permitium or your spam folder?

Their live scan process is significantly delayed. I know several people who have gone past 90 days in 2020 and have been approved. Send them a email they will respond within a day or two of what is holding it up.
