Got an email from jr in response to my email asking what the expected delay is for 9mm reloads.

"Sorry too inform you that I am only at order Id#537 for reloaded 9mm. Best guess 10-12 weeks.

Patty"

That time frame seems much more realistic than the other lead times they've given.

This sounds super shady, a very bad business practice to tell your customer an estimated date then hit them with a huge delay. I'd file a complaint with the BBB.

They should change their ad on the bottom to "GET AMMO IN 10-12 WEEKS"

When was the last time you called the BBB before you bought something? Me either. Most business know its kind of a joke unless your looking for city contracts maybe.

In short, word is mouth is your best bet, or even email them a link showing them their customers aren't happy. That usually gets a better response.

Try Sportsmanguide.com with their coupons, I have paid close to those prices they have. I think last time it was $10 more. But, I already got my ammo.

Glad to hear it! The 9mm reloads I asked for instead of the "quite a bit longer" wait for the .45 reloads should be arriving tomorrow.

I think I may opt to not get in line again until they get through their current backlog... a quick call + a trip to Glendale = ammo for just a few more $ than JR ammo with a 2 month delay. =)

unfortunately, that is a little too far for me.

I do wonder if the reason that they are not processing the backlog of orders as quickly as we hope is that they have to give priority to their government contracts and work on our orders when they have spare time.

if asm777 is talking about Bullet_Man (aka Serge) He does ship at pretty decent rates. Might want to look in the Commercial section for him. His ammo has been great to my firearms. Just my 2 coppers.

I suspect that they don't fulfill the orders sequentially. That is, they look at what they need to produce to meet their commercial contracts and produce extra of that caliber for their retail orders? That might explain the earlier post where one caliber of a 3 caliber order was not shipped and there was a long delay on the third caliber.

Well, I decided to cancel my order. I found a pretty good deal on Finocchi at militaryshooters.com. Shipped, it was $10/1k more JRA's new loads but they have inventory in stock, ready to ship. As it was, I was coming up on the close of the 60 day window to dispute a charge on my credit card and I simply don't feel comfortable with a company using my money for working capital. Hopefully JRA will get their production and brass supply issues fixed so that they can fulfill orders within a reasonable timeframe. If they do, I will give them another shot.

I also cancelled my order for 1k of .45 reloads this weekend. I assume it was Patty that called me to ask if I wanted to shift my order to 9mm or .357 because there was no estimate on when .45 reload production would start again. Something about all machines being broke and colossal backorder. Told her the time I needed lots and lots of .45 had passed having just completed a match and I didnt need 9mm or .357. Ill look for some more .45 somewhere else.

The last several posts indicate they never received their product (after months of waiting) - I doubt free shipping is going to be enticement for anyone.

I placed an order for 2 k of 9's on March 29th with an expected deliver of mid April, it's now May and I called them the other day to see the stats of my order. The gal behind the phone was very nice and professional, and told me it would be a couple of more weeks out. I'll see how long that's going to take and let you knows know where I'm standing at, but my order number is the low 1000's

Looks like I will be ordering from bullet_man whenever I get a few extra dollars. I still need to contact Freedom Munitions sp? and let them know how their ammo ran in my Gen 3 vs Gen 4 vs XDM

I believe they are in the low 700s for order number. Vince (the guy that used to work for Jack Ross) said they are millions of rounds on back ordered.

Here is what Vince posted in glockforum (my emphasis added):

Quote:
Chris is the guy that owns jack ross ammo. and i was one of his workers till he let me go. cuz he had no money to pay me no more. he will make you guys wait on your ammo. don't buy it if you dont want to wait. hes dos not no how to run a good business. chris is 1 million rounds 9mm back logged.so you will be waiting 1 to 2 mouths for your ammo
This is why I cancelled my order when I got near the end of my 60-day dispute window under my credit card terms. If the company is experiencing cash problems even after getting all the money up front for 2 months of retail orders, then there is no way that I am going to take that kind of risk.

I ended up ordering from miltaryshooters.com and less than 10 days later, I have my ammo.

Yeah, I won't be ordering anything from him anymore, the backlog is ridiculous.. Took 2 months to get 500 rounds of .45 reload which is not bad, but his communication, the fact he bills you in advance is not cool. Ive found other places for a few bucks more I can get in a reasonable amount of time.

Went to a local shooting range and rented a pistol I wanted to tryout and the guy at the counter gave me a box of 9mm ammo in jack Ross packaging. It shoot fine out of the g19 but all I've got to say is dam those rounds were loaded hot.

I shot 200 or so recently, didn't notice them being hot. What with the squibs - I wonder WHAT they are shipping... (I got some .380's - FOUR so far).

BTW - I've had GREAT luck with Bullet_man911 (sp?) .. reloads. Hard to tell they ARE reloads (at least the .38's I got looked perfecto) and I shot all but 1 bag..

Got tired of waiting. When I placed the order there wasn't any detail on their site about a delay. One month later and I called and was informed may be another 6 weeks.

Things happen, I understand but the already took my money!
I placed orders from Galco and their site informed me about 4 weeks backorder on a part. No worries. They only charged my CC the day they shipped the merchandise. Than't how it should be, no?

I asked the girl at JR to cancel and refund my money. She said she doesn't know how long before I get my refund?

Send a letter to your credit card company. The instructions are on the backside of your bill. Let them know that you cancelled the order as seller was unable to fulfill the order and that the seller will be processing a credit. This will preserve your rights.

I was/am not concerned about delays in the credit posting as my dispute rights have been preserved.

I waited two weeks after canceling before I had to dispute with my credit card company. JR didn't respond to my questions about the status of my refund. They did respond to the cancel email right away though.
