I'm thinking about hitting up the OC Indoor Shooting Range (Brea) soon for some stress relief soon. Would anyone else be interested in joining? I might be going as early as tomorrow morning if I can get the time.

I am gonna hit the firing line in Huntington tomorrow. Its a lot cheaper if you pay for the whole year of membership.

In 11-12 days I should have my new RIA USGI Standard 1911 in hand. So, 13 days from now?

How about we setup a meet in Burro Canyon and rent one of their ranges??? We can have a little competition type meet. ARs and pistols??? Wachu guys think about this? If we could gather up a bunch of members, then this should be a one big event. Let me know your opinion guys... And gals...

Cool! But we need to put up funds for the range rental and equipment, and if there are still excess funds,we can use it for the after shoot party.

If you're gonna buy equipment, I'd suggest making it into a regular thing. Otherwise, for one time thing it wouldn't be too cost effective. A get together to shoot may be the best route. Keep in mind you'll be setting up, shooting, taping, and tearing down each stage one by one. Also, since it should be very safety oriented, you should also consider everyones safety standards. I trust everyone in my group with regards to their competency in handling of a firearm. Just a few things to consider. It's easier said than done. Here's one of his creative creations... dual panel port. Last edited by Black Majik; 02-02-2009 at 11:15 AM.. |

Sorry for the cellphone pic quality. Didn't feel like dragging my DSLR out just to do a DROS Thoughts: - The included magazine is nice and very high quality. I wish my Kimber had come with a mag like this. - The wood grips are pretty and add some class. - Frame is "green" parkerized, slide/barrel/small parts/guide rod and plug are all "black" parkerized. I definitely dig the slightly two-tone look. - Frame/barrel/slide fit is surprisingly smooth and tight. Not what I expected from a 319$ pistol, even after reading all the outstanding reviews. I'm ESPECIALLY surprised since I just got the USGI model as opposed to the tactical or match version. - Finish on some of the small parts is a little rough, but nothing terribly nasty looking. I expected this and am not discouraged. - Trigger was heavier than on my Kimber, but still retained that characteristic 1911 single-action crispness. - Sights are definitely USGI, simple and no-nonsense. I played with it, disassembled it, dry-fired it. So far I'm really happy with it. Now I just have to wait the damned 10 days!!!

Nice pickup Christian!
Well looks like it's confirmed that we'll be heading up to Angeles this coming Sunday if anyone's interested. Steel is a lot more fun than paper! We'll be on the far end of the pistol side from 12:30 -closing |
