Default Glock 9mm

Looking for a Glock 9mm in the bay area, 19 or 26. My local gun store has several 40 caliber Glocks in the $5XX range, but wondering when 9mm will be restocked or if anyone knows a store that might have them in stock. They said they had no idea.

This will be my 1st firearm, as a Californian, so doing a bunch of research to figure out the system here.

Looks like this isn't the best time to become a 9mm Glock owner, although this was the gun I owned in Texas (10+ years ago) so would like the same one.

This. Also keep in mind Magazines are Double the Price right now.

If your going for the G19, fantastic choice either way but I would skip the Gen 3. Now you do the Research/HW.

i would wait. if you don't shoot 40s&w, buying a conversion barrel is a waste of money.

Agree. I'm not going to convert, just wait for Glock 19's to get restocked. Just wondering if anyone knows the timeframe. I've heard March, June???

I'm fine with the 3rd gen... if God forbid I had to use it, I'd hate to be in front of a bay area jury having some idiot lawyer making a big deal about using some loophole (modifying my gun) to have access to an "illegal" "scary" gun...

I just bought a usa made g19. Good luck on waiting till the gen4 comes to CA. What I heard was that glock had some shipping issues and it might be a couple months.

Gen 4 Glocks wont make it to CA unless they include a Loaded Chamber Indicator, Magazine Disconnect, and something else im sure due to CA DOJ standards.
(others please chime in as I am not 100% postive)

I got my G19 Gen 4 via SSE. It added a little more cost to get it but it was worth it TO ME.

The Glock 19 is the most popular because it allows the perfect size for large, medium and small hands. GO for it!!!

That information doesn't negate a self defense claim in court. I'm not saying I've researched it extensively but I have yet to hear modifications of a gun be brought up as evidence. Besides, the SSE is not a loophole. It's a clearly written exemption in the law.

Besides, good arguments could be made for not allowing that evidence in but I won't bore you with the details. I'm not your lawyer, I've just been studying for the Bar too much.

My non legal advise is to get what you want.

Glock is backordered 600,000+ pistols. If you want a 19, place a backorder or else you will be waiting a really long time.

Get a 26 if you can find one. I had a 19 for several years, and still love it, but I recently got a 26, and I'm starting to like it a little better. I have big hands, but even so, the 26 is a nice little gun.

That's why I got it. Mine does not see a lot of action, but I am still happy with the choice.

I have a G17 rtf, only fired once, 60 rounds. I like the 19 better. Anyone with a 19 interested in trading let me know.

I recently took delivery of a gen3 G19. It was a bit of a gamble because there are a number of folks with issues with their gen 3 G19. I believe Glock fixed this issue on the current production runs. I have run various types of Lugers through it and haven't had a single issue. "Glock Perfection" is living up to its name... at least for me.

I doubt that Glock will ever build a CA-compatibile G19. But that doesn't stop californian's from buying one from a competent FFL. Those who are willing to do SSE (single shot exemptions) can sell a Gen4 Glock in CA totally legally. Some FFL's won't do it - either it's too complicated for them to deal with, they don't understand the details or just are too busy to help their customers witha bit of extra work.
Look around. I believe that MPArms in San Jose will do it. I am not affiliated with them in any way and have not had to do an SSE with them but I have bought through them and it's always a great experience.

Same here. Picked up my new gen3 g19 a couple of weeks ago. Shoots fine, no ejector issues, etc.

No loads of hot brass to the face here. The g19 is so shooter friendly, it's a dream to shoot for sure, some of the best groupings I ever shot were with the g19...and I shoot the CZ sp-01 9mm as well.. I want a g21 gen3 now real bad!!!

I thought about trading one of my g19s for a g21 or a g30+extended barrel&mags gen3 I think a glock .45 would be awesome!!
