Laws for AR Pistol out of 80% Lower.
Folks,
I have some questions, I want to make a AR pistol out of one my 80% lowers. Is this possible? Or must I purchase a a dedicated pistol lower, and register it as a pistol? Thanks, A2 |

Some take pictures and videos to prove it too, for CY6-factor...

(this is not legal advice)
You'll need a single shot sled and bullet button. Also, don't buy your upper or pistol barrel until your lower is finished and ready to go if you already have a rifle/carbine lower. Lots of people make this mistake innocently enough, they grab an upper on sale at a gun show or something, and don't realize they're in constructive possession for an SBR. Be safe! |

What caliber are you considering? I build mine in 9mm format so I can use them in indoor gun ranges. Just remember if you are building a specific AR pistol in 9mm or .45 etc. to find a CNC machine with the ability to create built in magwell blocks. This way you you will not have to worry about getting your magwell blocks to align properly. Or you can go the route I did and build the pistol upper to not alter the magwell entirely so you can switch between 9mm and 223 uppers on the fly.

* Mill 80% lower into a 100% lower * Buy pistol/sbr length upper not before milling lower if you also own a rifle lower * Assemble lower with LPK, etc, but include a BB * Install 0 shot sled in place of magazine * Attach upper * Remove 0 shot sled * Insert 10 round mag * Pull trigger and smile |

Why does it have to have a sled? Also who is to know if you put a sled in it? Is there supposed to be some sort of documentations or is it a just a word of honor?

Single shot pistols of certain dimensions are exempt from the roster. Building an off list semi auto pistol directly is illegal.

That is all it is from what I understand. Sort of a joke if you ask me. Definitely do this though because it is a felony if you don't. There is no way for them to know if you did or did not though. Sort of like the magazine repair kits.

A sled is a zero round "magazine". When a sled is locked into the magazine well, a semi automatic firearm is single shot.
Remember, the chamber holds one round, so there cannot be any rounds capable of being fed from a magazine. |

SLED is an acronym. Single Load Enhancement Device.

I get that, I'm asking about how they're made or what they look like.
I imagine that the are held in place by the mag catch, and they can't hold any rounds, so are people just blocking old low caps up to the feed lips or are they specially made products? |
