Just used my tool to change out the sights on an older folded slide P220, the rear worked great but the front was a little more difficult. I wound up using the lower spacer sideways and putting 3 shims behind it which were penny's cut in half. The blade would then push on the sight and leverage
against the dust cover which was sitting against the shimmed sideways lower block. The clamp doesn't do anything because the front of a sig slide isn't flat. I got the front sight in but it does have a couple gauges on the top of the edges because i couldn't keep the blade and sight exactly perpendicular. This was on my carry gun, so im not so worried about scratches and dings, but if this was one of my other guns i probably wouldn't be so happy.

How have others done the front sight on a Sig?

Default Sig P220

I'm sorry you had difficulty with the tool, the clamping blocks are flat and will not hold a slide properly that is not flat.

I do make modified blocks for the 92F, XDM and XD but I don't have a P220 so I haven't made a set for that slide.

If you are ever in the San Diego area and could bring a slide with you I would be glad to machine you a set.

Please let me know if there is anything else you need.

Danny

I apologize if my post came off as a complaint of the product. I was more looking to see how others have done the front sight on a Sig for my next sight change.

I could send you a P220 slide if you would like to make a block, let me know?

That would be great!
I will make you a free set of blocks.

I could do them in just a couple of days.

Default Great tool

Received mine yesterday and was able to switch out my front sights on my 1911 in less than 10 min. Great product and fast service. If I can do it, anyone can do it. THANKS Danny!

Have you had reported success with a Browning High Power front sight, or do you have blocks for the front of the slide ? I'm thinking of the taper in the slide at the front.

If I'm not mistaken the slide is flat for the last 1 1/2" of the slide. It should work.

I personally have not done one.

If you want you can send me a pic of yours and point out your concerns.

Slide is flat there - Just wasn't sure if you had any reported sucesses or reported failures.

I'll PM a couple of pictures to you so you have them for a reference.

Got mine today and the sights came off like butter!! Jezz, you guys weren't b-s-ing when you said pretty much anyone could do this. And as luck would have it, the wife's new sights also arrived today. Now I just gotta get her slide painted and we can put it all together.

Thanks Danny!

Just bought one from Danny. Should be here end of week. Will be nice to be able to move sights around and not have to chase down a sight pusher!

I have 5 ready to ship. Lots of XD, XDM blocks and blocks for the Sigs with the taper on the front of the slide.
The additional blocks are $8 when ordered with a tool.

Or all 3 sets of blocks for $20 when ordered with a tool.
