Default Help pinning an EG 74 folding stock

Anyone know what is the best way to pin an East German AK74 side folding stock without drilling or welding? The stock folding mechanism looks similar to a Maadi crutch folder but I can't seem to fit pennies under the wire part. Any help would be appreciated.

Put a spacer inside the spring that limits the spring travel enough that it will not unlock.
