New shooters tend to do this to offset the weight of the firearm.

I do this for fun.. Both shooting and Photography.. I wanted to take some pics of my Precision Rifle one night and had a volunteer who wanted to be in teh pics as well.. I lit the photo fairly flat as to show off the rifle .. My cyc was prettty dirty from the dogs running all over it but it seemed like the likely bg to show off my dark coloured rifle.. I could have done a dark bg and used selective lighting on the rifle to show off select attributes but thats not what I wanted..

There are many different types of photographers out there.. I have respect for all types.. I shoot a little bit of everything from Portraits, Sports, Motorsports, Events, Landscape, and even a little stock.. Not sure why some people have so much animosity towards people who think they are photogaphers. I run into both sides weekly during the school year at sporting events.. What I'm shooting is not difficult and anyone could do it if they invested enough time and energy into learning how to do it.. Who cares if someone wants to call themselves a photographer..

Keep the pics coming guys!!!!!!
funny seeing you here. you know okolo too?

Her first time out:

Her second time out:

She really picked up on my tips, and started using the tip of her finger to slowly squeeze the trigger. Towards the end of the day, her grouping was getting pretty damn good. I wish I got a pic of her target from 100 yards!
