Default Camp Fire in Butte County

I just spoke to my brother who is a county official in Butte County. He works at the EOC. He said the Camp Fire is pretty bad. Hope the fire gets contained soon.

I worked through the riot, mudslide, fire, and earthquakes during my career, but nothing was as devastating as these fires in my opinion.

My hat is off to fire officials, LE officers and all the people working hard to fight against the fires in Los Angeles, Ventura and Butte County. My prayers are with you for your safety.

Yeah, it is very saddening to hear how many people, especially fellow public safety (LE and Fire), have lost their homes!

What's amazing is that a whole city can be wiped off the map, and many people 500 miles away in the same state don't even realize the extent of the devastation.

According to a law enforcement page on Facebook, the entire Paradise Police Department (49 personnel) lost their homes to the fire, along with 8 CHP officers from the CHP Chico station.the town of Paradise is 90% gone.

I’ve got an LE friend lives just south of Chico has his coworker’s family staying with him now because his coworker’s house is close to the fire line and it’s not looking good. I heard yesterday from a buddy with CHP that there’s 100 missing people still. I’m not sure what the update is today.

It’s a good reminder of what’s important. We’re praying for those working the line and those who’ve already lost loved ones and homes.

It is sad that people lose their homes. I wouldn't know what to do.

My brother worked at the EOC during the last storm when the dam almost broke. We are so small against the nature. Maybe he can retire in couple of years and don't even deal with it anymore.

Very sad and overwhelming. I was out there for two days on my very first SAR deployment. The Sheriff's talk to us at the morning was very heart felt and moving. Largest SAR operation in California's history.
