Default Always wear your eyes!!

I was getting some range time in at bullseye today when I pulled off a one in a million shot! I wear glasses, therefore I feel I dont need further eye protection, man do I feel stupid now. A piece of molten, lava hot brass flew out of my pistol, bounced off the brim of my hat, wen screaming between my glasses and eyebrow, and came to rest just under my eye lid, pinned there by my glasses. I calmly set my pistol down then began franticly batting at my burning flesh while making a sound very similar to a girl seeing a big scary spider. It's a small blister but a blister nonetheless.

Same thing happened to me about 20 years ago - I was wearing eye protection, damm casing flew up and lodged behind my glasses and burn. Oh well, part of the fun.

same. was wearing glasses and it got lodged in between my eye/glasses. that sucker sure was hot!

I now always wear contacts + safeties that fully cover my eyes. No possible way a brass round can get stuck in between now.

Edit: Wrap Around Design Glasses

1 in 1,000,000 shot, but that's all it takes.
Glad you aren't hurt.

I have to give you credit for posting this. I also only wear my sunglasses when I go shooting, but I don't wear a hat.

Nice freckles!

I have been hit by various casings shrapnel and assorted other flying debris over the years. I started wearing PPE's before it was fashionable or even mandatory. Part of the price you pay for loving the use of guns for your hobby.

Hahahahha Bob,

Classic, just classic. Guess you're pretty satisfied with the 75B though, right?

Yup, been singed under my left eye with hot brass spit out of my G17. It looked like a blood tear drop after it scabbed over. I always wear eyes and ears when I shoot, just recently started wearing a hat too.

Eons ago I suffered a Colt Sporter's direct brass hit on my the left side of my neck while participating in a military-style rifle match at South Bay Rod and Gun in the early 90's. Still have the round scar. I know now why some shooters wear wielder's jackets with the high leather collars. lol

I'm trying to hide the fact that I'm going bald. Thanks for not pulling my man card

Don't worry, that's happened to me too. I don't wear a hat, but yeah. Not pleasant in the least.

BTW what's the handgun your neighbor's shooting? Looks like a CZ, but I'm not sure.
