Default Fire season duration

Does anybody know when fire season is supposed to end? I've been wanting to go shoot outdoors unrestricted but I can't find anything on when it will be allowed.
Thanks
C

I thought the BLM ban was until they deemed it safe and not so much on a specific date.

If you're up for a short drive and in SoCal, I think Imperial County is good to go for shooting.

It'll probably go through the end of November at the least.

BLM waits for Calfire to make a recommendation . Usually late November into December . We will be having a large clean up with the BLM on September 30. I was hoping to get an estimate in the reopen date at that time .

Without rain there will be no change. Last year we got some and it was opened by December. If we don't get any it could remain closed until we do.

Cal Fire pulls those strings and they are not in a drought ending mood after Santa Rosa.

Any word yet? I heard it might be closed for good because of the pink gate fire?

Cal Fire determines soil moisture levels. The soil is still dry. No significant rain is forcast here. It could remain closed until next fall or winter.

Pink Gate is a disaster zone. I would not be surprized if that was shut down permanently like Orosco Ridge was in 2012.

Actually my nonprofit organization SDmust did a large clean up on September 30th of all the shooting areas around Dulzura. We filled two large roll off dumpsters with trash. I was out there about two weeks ago and it still looks good. We can't control the weather, but we can do our best to keep the area clean so people can freely exercise their rights out there.
Hopefully we get some more moisture in the soil out there so they can lift the fire restrictions. in the mean time I have information of other shooting areas in Imperial if anyone is interested.

Since a large fire was started at pink gate last fall it may be closed down.

According to the BLM rangers I spoke to and community members , It is only closed for fire season. Because we cleaned up the mess, it should reopen . But I will try to confirm if I can.
