Squad 5 had many good peeps on it. Jim loves to RO and does a great job. I missed shooting with those guys today.

My squad was fun with a few guys I have shot with before and a chance to meet some new ones. Amazing how fast things wrapped up with such a high turnout of shooters.

If they bring back the four position to the AR match, I'm in too. I'll have to message Eric and see what his plans are.

Glad you made it, I had to bug out a bit early but our squad was moving fast so I only missed one stage.

Do they do rifle matches there? Anything closer than Pala or BLM is good. 100 yard limits?

Yes, they have high power center fire rifle at 100 and the AR match out to 150.

What's needed for a newbie to shoot? I'd like to learn and start shooting competition.

I'd like to use my CZ 75B SA

usually minimum 4 mags and a double mag pouch, holster and good gun belt. usually at least 3 mags and one to load one in the chamber then seat a full mag. most importantly a good attitude and just be safe. take your time and don't worry about your times and just have fun.

I have everything but the holster, mag pouches and gun belt. I guess I'll have to buy that gear first and make it to the next one.

Get advice from a friend or on here before you give up your cold hard cash to buy the gear, that way you don't have to buy it a second time.

If you make it out there look for me on squad 2 (wearing Patriots hat), I may have extra gear.

Thanks Baranski. I'll definitely come out. If anything I can spectate if you don't have extra gear.

I'll be the one with the CZ Custom hat.

Fiancée and I stopped by this morning to spectate. Looks really fun!

I ordered a holster and mag pouch for my CZ 75B SA and my Glock 34 so I'll be ready next month.

Fiancée wants to try it out too. We DROS'd a CZ P-01 this morning so she'll be using that.

Good match today. Despite the size of the crowd we completed all five courses before 11. It was warm early but a breeze kept things comfortable. Great day on the range other than the fella on our squad (forgot his name) that took a chunk of frag in his cheek from another shooter's course of fire.

Think about that for a second. Firing line was ~15 yards from the targets, we were another 1-2 yards back, and a chunk of frag big enough to draw blood and require a little first aid hit him in the face.

He was fine, and has a good war story to share with his friends.

Yes, match this Saturday. The crowd is broken down into five squads. Bring that Glock, it'll work.

First time seeing this thread- actually feeling a bit excited.

Have never shot a match.

If I show up tomorrow at 7AM with: 9mm 1911 fitted with an RMR, holster, mag holder, 6 magazines, bucket of 124gr 9mm, and a $10 bill - Will I need anything else? Not counting Eye/Ear pro.

What can I expect as a first time attendee? Total event time is probably a few hours?

You will have a blast!
Great event. They will go over all the rules for the match.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. This is a great venue and great people.

Sadly, I haven't been able to make it for a while (going on 2 months) due to family obligations. Enjoy and take your time. There is no rush

Had a great time- going to make this a regular thing for sure, and maybe I'll even practice

Lessons Learned- Showing up at 7am gets you a good parking spot, first pick on the signup squads, annnnnnd about 45 minutes of waiting with no cell service. Pack light. Bring a hat and water or gatorade. 6 Magazines will let you reload twice total after shooting 2 stages each reload.

Good seeing you Josh, shooting this match with a subcompact was a challenge for sure. Stage 5 got the best of me with 10 misses, after that I averaged about 4 per stage and about 35 seconds per run (before penalties).

What a scorcher out there.

Yah, I probably was a bit outgunned, but enjoyed challenging myself.

The results are posted in the newsletter on the site. Note: usually the top 3-5 scores are listed.

As soon as they send them, Ill forward them.

It's a lot of manual work to tabulate them and there is only one guy who does them, usually takes a week or so.
