Default Leupold Rifle Scope and Binoculars

So I just found out today that I can get 60% off msrp on any leupold products from my part time job. I knew keeping it along with my full time job was a good idea! Anyway now I am looking for a good set of glass for the .308 bolt action to be named and also a decent pair of binoculars. I was looking at the middle of the line products and was wondering what ones I should do some more digging into?

IMHO for a hunting scope you can't go wrong with the VX2 line.

For binos, I really like the 8x30 Yosemite, Yeah, they are billed as kids "beginner" binos, and yeah, they're made in china, but I find the size is just right for field use, and the optics are as good as I need them to be. I have several sets of binos, some a lot more expensive, but the Yosemites get used the most.

Others will probably have a different opinion.

I own VX2's and VX3's. For deer hunting, in CA 3-9 VX2 works fine. For elk hunting in CO and WY I use a 4-14 VX-3.

Ditto on the VX-2 line for rifle. The Leupold BX-2 Acadia 8x43 is pretty good glass. A bit more resolution than the 8x30,but, those Yosemite's are pretty good actually. Look at the two and see what you think.

I'd go VX3i minimum.

Thank you all for the suggestions I will do some research tomorrow, I think I settled on vortex diamondback binos for 50% off but I'll definitely go with Leupold for the scope.

You'll probably get more scope for the money with the Vortex offerings than the Leupold. Pretty sure your "part time job" hooks it up at Vortex as well.

Yeah looks like I have it narrowed down to the VX-2 3-9x40mm or the VX-2 3-9x50mm, Vx-3i 3.5-10x40mm and finally the VX-3i 3.5-10x50mm. Leaning more towards the VX-3i series. This scope would be used for most punching paper and hitting steel plates out to 400 yards and hunting should I ever want to get into it.

The guy gets 60% off and you recommend the vx 2? If I'm going Leupold it vx 3 or above, discount or not and I've never gotten a discount so that means for me buying off of the sample list.

Great scope. A good used one would still be a lot less than discounted MSRP though.

I get a similar deal, I went with the new VX3i 6.5-20x50 30mm tube and target turrets, just over $600, scope is crystal clear, paired that with my new Kenai spotting scope and the day at ASR was awesome.

As others have said vx3i minimum
I'd be getting the vx6 2-12 that's on sale plus your discount

Yeah, that.
My son got a "deal" and bought a 6.5-20 Mark 4, it was still expensive but every time he shoots my rifle he jokes about looking through the fog to find the target.

Post Ok, I asked the question from Leupold.

I have the Vari X IIc scope. I noticed that no buddy knew what the "c" ment on the scope. So I asked the Mfg. about it and they said, "The "C" is for Center Pivot. It is just a different design of the erector system." So there, now we know. If you understand it.
