Well, you have a point. I think there will always be those who contribute no matter what, and there will always be those who stop at a certain point. If I had my choice, everything I am doing would be for the SAF to be honest. Their litigation has proven to be quite effective, and if done right, they will be the ones who will have made some of the greatest changes for gun rights. Im not knocking the NRA, and I think they are very important- but these days litigation seems to be where it is at.

Remember any of the 200 new life members here can do the same, and some are doing it. A life member can call 1877NRA2000 ext1 and tell the operator they would like to give a gift life membership for 300$.

I do not mind doing it and I am happy to help. I make no money, just the satisfaction of helping gunowners and the NRA.

Lets change it up a little bit. If you want me to sponsor you as a life member, join the Second Amendment Foundation. It is $15.00. If you are already a member- sign up your wife, kid or a friend. Send me the confirmation email (you may have to ask them for one), and I will sponsor your life membership in the NRA.

Consider their 150$ life membership- and the work they do in the courts.

We all win- every gun owner.

www.saf.org or (425) 454-7012 remember to ask them for a confirmation email

Please note you have to pay for the 300$ membership
Is this an annual affair? In other words should I expect it to happen again in 2013?

Thanks

I think it is annual, I haven't seen anything one way or the other on it. I do not know when it ends.

Is there any way to find out if it is still on?

Thank you, kind sir.

I will speak with a friend who I am pretty sure is a life member. Can you tell me what the point of contact or procedure would be for him to do this for me?

Yes any life member can do it for anyone. Tell him to call 1877nra2000 extension 1, and tell the operator he wants to give you a 300$ life membership. All of this is in the post.

Default Thank you Robert!

Robert,

Thank you for all of the help with the NRA Life Membership.

I took a look at the Second Amendment Foundation website (SAF.org) and decided to become a life member of SAF. I joined the SAF Defenders Club, as I learned that SAF was already fighting for my rights.

You made a wonderful suggestion to have me look at SAF.

Have a wonderful holiday season.

Talk to you soon,

Sid

Being a N.R.A. Life (Patron) member myself, I plan to give these Life memberships to several of my nieces and nephews, ranging in age from around thirteen to around twenty-four.
Is there any restriction on ages of people to whom these Life memberships can be given to? (i.e. can they be minors?)

Question membership upgrade deal?

Maybe this is a little off-topic for N.R.A. Life membership, but...
I upgraded my N.R.A. membership to Patron in 2000.
I have seen some forum posts about a deal to upgrade N.R.A. membership a level for $250.
I would not mind upgrading my Patron membership to Benefactor membership for that kind of price.
Is that deal still going on?

None, I have boys aged ten - one that are life members this way

I think that is every now and then. Not aware that this is happening. Give them a call

Just signed up to be a lifetime member to the SAF and Robert hooked me up with the NRA Life membership really fast!

Other great news is I was telling my buddy Dave user name cismccubed about calguns.net and all the gun rights issues faced and not only did he sign up for calguns, he also signed up as a SAF member and a lifetime NRA member. He lives in Michigan but wants to help protect our rights!

Another big thank you to Robert!

This sucks! I spent all of my money on christmas gifts and now I see this! I wanna cry. I could never afford the thousand bucks. Will this ever happen again? Or is there some way I can do this in February? Please help. Thanks.

I will do it until they stop letting me. When? I dunno. I imagine we are in for a long hard fight. I'm sure they need to keep the cash flowing.

SAF isn't very good at sending out notifications, membership info, or anything at all really. However, they need the money to keep doing great work, so when I send it to them and never hear back I figure its at least going somewhere useful

Yeah I never got anything from the SAF until I joined as a life member. Except for fundraising letters. Not even a membership card. It was ok with me because I saw the work they were doing. There was a quarterly newsletter they send out called the Report, or something like that.

I recommend subscribing to their seperate publications though, such as 'the gun mag' and the 'Gottlieb-Tartaro Report'.

You'll get a card in the mail. They're not the email/flyer/call type of org. They are the "let Alan Gura off his leash" type of org.

I'd buy that guy +1 dinner in LA at any restaurant of his choosing.

His contribution and ability in this fight go WAY beyond a beer!

He's like a naval battle group in terms of firepower.

As an individual in this fight, I feel like a medic with an M9 that can barely contribute much except a few unaimed rounds from behind cover here and there (a few bucks to a few orgs every few months).

repost from another thread:

As another CG member already pointed out, NRA membership can be had for as little as $10.

Is $10 too much to ask to support and provide membership bragging rights/representation for YOUR civil rights?

It takes about 2-3 minutes depending on how long it takes you to get your CC info.

https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/r...aignID=nranews

Click on "Junior, Distinguished, and Other Memberships"
bottom left

$10

Don't withhold your support "if they don't do what makes me happy".

We're in this fight together as we keep or lose our rights collectively.

United as gun owners and civil rights/gun rights supporters, we stand.

Divided, as selfish individuals waiting for others to do the work, we fall.

It's as simple as that.

---

We're taking heavy fire, and some people are waiting to see if they agree with the strategy of what the orders are before deciding whether they want to join the fight or not.

GET IN THE FIGHT!!!

Wife watched the news conference this morning, immediately after it ended she asked to sign us both up for life memberships. Sent Robert a PM to get the ball rolling.

Ok folks, believe all PMs have been answered and all people who have posted have been responded too. Quite a busy last few days with at least thirty new members so far.

I have posted all directions in the first post of the thread. Any questions on how to do this will be directed back to the first post of the thread.

1. Sign up in the SAF. Save the confirmation page or if you pay them with PayPal send me the receipt. Send that info to me in an email. SAF is the Second Amendment Foundation www.saf.org

2. Send me a Paypal gift only after you have done #1. In the body of that PayPal gift payment, I need
1. Name
2. Address
3. If you are or EVER were a member, if applicable your member#
4. Magazine preference
5. Do you want to be opted out of calls and mailings

I do not need a pm here with all of that info. I do not have the time to cross reference emails and PMs on different forums. Just two emails

SAF confirmation
And
PayPal gift payment, if you do not know what a gift payment is, then add 3.25% for the PayPal fees. Not my fees, I do not make anything doing this.

My address is tensawmac@aol.com

To pass on the Karma I bought two regular memberships for family members.

Thanks Robert.

Shoot, and I just signed up for a monthly EPL membership on the NRA's website...

Do you think they'd get mad at me if I cancelled that and went with your option, Robert?

Just become a SAF Life member thanks to this thread.
Already an NRA Life Member and have sponsored other CG'ers in the past.
In the process of signing up my whole family.

Another option for some is the $25 Bass Pro card for a $25 one year NRA membership, making your membership essentially free, which can be found here:

Keep up the good fight!

Thanks for this. I just sent it to all my buddies.

this should be a separate post. There's no reason everyone on cal guns shouldn't sign up. I'll let you post it or a moderator.
