Default Where to get best deal on ammot (online, Walmart, other?)

Any recommendations on where to get reasonably priced ammo (762x39, .45, .22, 30-30 and 20GA) in semi bulk. Not sure how much but more based on cost, say you wanted a few hundred rounds of each or maybe 1000 of each. Worth shipping to a FFL from online or just keep hitting Walmart?

Before Prop 63, it was generally cheaper for me to buy mail order, especially since the closest gun store is 45 miles away and the closest California gun store is an hour and a half away.

It's going to depend on the quantity you want, who carries it, and whether there's a FFL close by that will handle mail order transactions for you. If you're buying less than a thousand rounds, I'm not sure the savings would be worth the hassle factor and FFL fees.

Target Sports Ammo has pretty good prices and I believe they will ship to a California FFL.

45 and 22lr are cheap at walmart, i would imagine their 20g prices are the best as well

Check some mom and pop shops.

One I know of only charges $5 if picked up the same day, I think he said...

Agree on checking local shops. My local mom and pop is selling blazer brass 9mm for $10-12 a box of 50. Brazilian magtech is $9.xx per box of 50. Federal automatch 22LR for $13-16 per 325.

I usually pick up a few boxes when I’m down there. Stock up now before background checks drive the cost up.

You must've missed the Calguns contest to see who could buy the most rounds before January 1st! (JK).

What would be a good price per round of 762x39?

First rule of that contest was don't talk about it but if there was such a contest, I might have been competing.
