Default Colt WWII Barrel ID Help

Hoping someone can help me identify the barrel that my Colt WWII 1945 came with. I checked the serial number and it tells me that frame is 1945. The barrel has a P on the left side of the lug and a HS on the right side of the lug. There are no additional markings. From what I have researched it should have a COLT .45 AUTO on it.

So what is correct for my gun. Is my barrel a replacement?

Sounds like you have a High Standard barrel. These are common with Remington Rands and a few others...but not a 1945 colt. I think I may have the proper barrel for yours I'd trade you straight up...PM me if interested

Yep, you have a High Standard barrel. The barrel that originally came with your gun would have "Colt 45 Auto" on the left side just above the barrel lugs and the right side is blank.

Correct barrels are out there, but the prices have gone up on them and expect to pay somewhere between $200-300 for one.
