That's great. Thanks for sharing this information. What's the L and W of the scrap metal?

I see how this one works. The plate is bigger, thus only able to fit behind the top of the release. The screw keeps it from moving out; either under the trigger guard or by giggling it out sideways through the bottom of the mag release. Correct More?

The screw sucks up the plate which wedges the mag release preventing it from moving. +1 on what fal said. The screw head is big enough to prevent it from sliding through and both pieces clamp down on the mag release spring so it will be under tension and won't come loose even if you don't use loctite. It's that simple, now give me $20 bucks for telling you my secret haha

Am starting on my first AK build, I live in SoCal, and this is the COOLEST! Makes it easy to install and remove as needed, and still complies with the "reasonable and fair" California regulations.

Thank you for sharing and encouraging us to steal, or Borrow, your design.

Thank you!

There are better designs now. With this device, you have to feed from the ejection port. Can't drop your mag like with the newer "bullet button" designs.

Better is all in the eyes of the beholder.

Im going for the real look, not function. I only have 1 mag and will rarely shoot it anyways but gives it the best overall look. Next is the raddlock but the fat pin throws the look off, which is what I have on it right now. I also just ordered the other day the ak bullet button, so I always have that option too just not sure how it will look on the rifle.
