Newbie = uncouth, unwashed, misinformed about OLL"s, they usually ALL ask the same questions usually 3-4 times a week instead of using the search feature), + usually under 20 post count.....

Huh, seems we missed FUD: Fear, uncertainty and doubt. See also: people who scream "you're all going to jail!" based on some BS DOJ memo that has no basis in reality, or just 99% of the weapons laws on the books currently and how they got enough support to be enacted.

Newbie here, thank you for this thread. I'm glad I found it because I was about to ask what an OLL is.

CLEO == Chief Law Enforcement Officer, useful for sending a copy of your C&R application to, or issuing a CCW. Usually a County Sheriff or City Chief of Police.

Thanks for posting the acronym finder website. Now I know that WECSOG means Wiley E Coyote School of Gunsmithing.

I thought FUD was ****ed Up Disinformation and pertained to people spreading false information that was otherwise handed down from someone with FUD or by a gun grabbing anti-gunner trying to type cast firearms and their owners as the heartless evil killing machine criminals that the media portays us to be.

In addition to “office of administrative law” OAL may also mean “Over All Length”

AG - Attorney General
SBS – Short Barreled Shotgun
AOW – Any Other Weapon
NFA – National Firearms Act
RKBA – the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Tacticool – Something that looks cool, is useless, and was probably expensive
DFTT – Don’t Feed The Troll
FFL – Federal Firearms License (a dealer)
PITA – Pain In The @--
POS – Piece Of S---
Mag – box magazine; ammunition feeding device (sometimes incorrectly referred to as a “clip)

I am sure I will think of more

Since we're also going over CalGuns slang....

... perhaps someone could give me the quick answer as to who 'Allison' and 'Iggy' are? Based on context, I assume they work for CA DOJ??

They both work for the DOJ. Allison is kind of out of the picture now (I think she's been reassigned within the DOJ). Iggy is still around.

She's a lawyer with the DOJ and is famous for drafting the letter that said that OLL receivers were OK in California. At the time, she didn't realize that people would get those receivers and build them up into rifles. So we can kind of thank her for this. She's also famous for attempting to evade her duty to assist with PRAR's (public record act request), and for closely working with Brady.

Iggy is a field agent, AFAIK. He's famous for shooting his desk, allegedly lying under oath, and other stuff.

They are both prime examples of fine public servants.

A lot of the ones included in the thread aren't in the 1st post. Would be helpful if they were.

You don't have RPK or WASR but maybe that's overkill...

****...acronym for Store High in Transit, just learned that last week during a radio advertisement. Came from the Civil War era when cow pies were stored on ships for fuel. When saltwater came into contact with them, it gave off some type of scent or gas, they bundled the cow pies up and stacked them, marking them in red writing with Store High In Transit (or Transport), eventually them abbreviated the verbiage, hence the acronym ****...
