The event is indeed full. There is a waiting list already. The event filled in approximately 5 minutes after opening for registration.

NCPPRC Long Range events have become very popular and the club has had to restrict attendance as there are only 25 shooting lanes with two relays. Thus, the club cant get more than approximately 50 shooters into any single event. The availability of trainers, lanes, time, and safety all further the need to limit the size of these events.

The Club's monthly long range practice sessions have been equally popular with demand greatly exceeding availability. Although no trainers are typically available to assist the shooters with DOPE and wind, the events are open to non-members.

If you wish more information on NCPPRC, I suggest people visit their forum.

It's was a great class, thanks to all the staff and volunteers. With coaching I got a few 8 ring hits on a slightly bigger than B29 sized target @1000 having never shot past 200 yards. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to try distance shooting.

Thanks to everyone for coming to the class. We hope that you enjoyed yourself and learned a few things to help you in your long range shooting goals.

The winds got very hard (17-20 mph, switching from 11:00 to 1:00 about every 45 seconds it seems) as the day progressed, keeping the coaches on their toes with their wind calls for the students; and kept the students on their toes trying to keep up with the wind calls from the coaches changing every ten or fifteen seconds, and having to time their shots before the next change hit while putting all of the fundamentals to use!

Stay safe out there.

(And Wookiee87, I like that A-10 avatar you have!)

I had a blast. My coach, Dave Skit, got me so that I was 3 for 3 in headshot at 500, had an X ring shot at 800, most of my shots were 8 ring at 900 and 6 of 10 in blue at 1000.

The wind was really swirling. It was R->L so I aimed at the right edge of the target and that worked perfect for 2 10 ring hits. Then it changed and I was 12 inches off the right edge of the target.

Learned a lot and my loads, DOPE, equipment worked as well as can be expected. Will definitely do it again.

I did ok in the first half. After 800 the wind got me. On and off the target... wish we had spent less time on the shorter distances and more at the 1000 line. To me the most difficult part is still wind reading. Hope I will chance to practice more on that.

Made to Panoche this weekend and shot at 1100 yard. Made three shots out of 7~8 in the morning. In the afternoon wind condition changed and I could not hit anything

Wind reading still difficult to me

Come back this summer and do another clinic please

There is another clinic coming up in June.

https://ncpprc.com/long-range-clinic/

Saturday June 16.

Wind reading is an art and requires practice. As with any skill, the more you practice, the better you will get at it.
