Default More Classic Firearms Koolaid

It appears Classic's website has crashed after their Star Model B email blast

Meanwhile, Rguns has quietly had them in stock for at least a year now for $325
https://rguns.net/shop/star-model-b-9mm-ww2/

And if you check their gunbroker they have some individually listed with buy it now of $350

Anyone actually have one though? I wouldn't mind picking one up one of these days.

I have one that I picked up at J&G when they had them. Basically a 1911 in 9mm minus the grip safety. I like it, it's a nice solid gun.

I got one from J&G as well; surprised how accurate it is.

Neat pistol. Another J&G customer as well.

I plan on selling mine. I've just got to find it, haha!! Last known sighting was 2014.

No "No shipping to CA" info found so I assume these are g2g here? I kind of want one.

Is there any C&R difference in the BS versus B Second models?

Seems like the difference is only the magazine safety or something. But the BS is VG condition and the B 2nd is fair.

Damn, but they have this on their ordering info so I'll have to email them to see if that's still in place

NO pistol orders to CALIFORNIA at present time.

For any Calgunners who are on the fence about these, you can get off the fence and buy. They are really cool. I'm thinking about buying a second one just because it's a great gun and is cheap to shoot. There is no such thing as too many of those. Just remember to NOT EVER DRY FIRE IT, NOT EVEN ONCE.

There have been other recent posts about Star Model B and what is C&R or not.

Can some of you Star experts chime in again, please? For some reason I am suddenly interested in one, but not from Classic. Thanks!

Star Model B = C&R

Star Model Super B = not C&R

"BS" has magazine safety and is later production than most plain "B"s. "B Super" has the Browning Hi-Power type takedown. Some of the "B Supers" can have feeding problems because their magazines are really made for the 9mm Largo, not the Parabellum.

I talked to a local FFL01 today about shipping the Star B to his shop. He is willing to accept the pistol and DROS pistol C&R/COE exempt so I can use my FFL03/COE and walk out with no 10 day wait. His transfer fee is $75.00 + $25.00 DROS fee.

Looks like Rguns will ship the pistol to CA for $15.00 which brings the Rguns cost to $340.00. I am going to try to find another FFL01 that will accept pistol and transfer C&R exempt. $75.00 seems a little steep for a transfer fee...

I just ordered one from Rguns. I stupidly made a mistake and put my billing address as the shipping address. I emailed and plan to call on monday.

Also, I would agree that $75 is a little steep. The best I have been able to find around me is $50 though so its not too much more. Still frustrating none the less.

True, $50.00 is the norm. The bummer is that the shop I went to used to charge $25.00 for a transfer fee. I think its getting tough for CA FFL's to stay in business, so I may just go ahead and bite the bullet on this one. Good thing is he is close...

The Shootist charged me $65 per gun for the DROS/transfer fee and no 10 day wait with FFL03 + COE

$75 + DROS does seem steep. My local guy is $25+$25 DROS for OoS transfers.

Amazing how fast they sold out at Classic. Just ordered one from RGUNS. For those who have one from them, was it heavy cosmolined? Did it look arsenal refinished?

I bet SNL could do a great spoof skit of these ridiculous Classic Firearms videos. Alec Baldwin could play Mario, or Luigi, or whatever the guy's name is.

I was on the fence about these for the longest of time, heard about the extractors acting up and needing adjustment due to the guns been put in parts and getting mixed up during rearsenal process.
It's a beautiful gun. Rguns here I come.

Well I succumbed and I bought a Star from RGuns. This is my first C&R handgun so I'm pretty excited. Besides, there isn't anything good out there for C&R long guns right now so this should scratch the itch for a while.

Find a Chris Farley look-a-like to play the part of "Brutus"...

Has anyone who's bought one of these from rguns experienced problems with the extractor? Just wondering if I may have to deal with a lemon

I could be wrong but I believe the extraction problems are related to the "Super B" model which is the later, non C&R model
