Question on lowers and 880
I just got done reading AW Registration Guide, and I have some questions. Sorry if this has been covered i looked but was unable to find it. Assuming one had several lowers purchased before 1/1/17 is it legal to retain them after not registering them assuming they retain no features? if so what constitutes a lower, can one have a complete lower, ready to attach an upper and still be in compliance?
Thanks in advance. |

You can still buy stripped lowers legally right now. I just bought one. As long as they are never built as featured or used on AW registerable rifles you are good to go to retain them and never have to register them. They are not rifles, in a legal sense, unless attached to an upper and if the upper or that lower doesn't have features it's perfectly legal. You can even build them featureless and install a regular mag release in the process. How nice is that?
