I have been shooting there for the past 5 years and bought a few guns from them during the Obama years. It's very unfortunate to see them go. There reloads were ok but the staff and RSO's were great. I have to wonder what factors caused the closure.

Does anybody know what happened to them? Were they shut down for legal reasons or safety reasons? Could it be that they feel they can make more money selling overpriced classes?

Island View was my go to place being less than 2miles from my shop.I could pop off 100 rounds on a lunch break trying out a new wheelgun and do easy quick 20 minute PPT's.Its a major loss in my books..They called me in last week to finialize a technical on some paperwork before they closed , the place looked barren and one guy said they would be parting out the whole range assemblies .The place was going to be stripped so it unfortunately doesn't look to be staying open in any capacity.

It was more than likely lack of income.

I packed the range bag for tomorrow and after not finding any ammo prices listed on their website I checked out their FB page to get more info.
DAMN! At least they could have posted something on their website. I just about broke even on my diamond membership but the location was the biggest convenience for me. Hopefully someone has bought the shop and will spark it back up instead of turning it into a plumbing supply warehouse.

This really blows. I was a charter member and I bought a LOT of hardware, ammo, and stuff. I’m sad to see them go. I heard rumor that it was going to get bought a few months back and made into a range/tactical training school but reading post above sounds like it’s getting parted out. Man I’m bummed.

This is bad news- we are left with much less desirable options at this point.

Basically to get to a good range means I have to drive 45Minutes minimum

Good! That's what happens when you price gouge your customers. When you have a business and treat people poorly they don't get mad they just never come back.

Talked with someone who works there. They ran out of money. Couldn't even pay employees.

Might be thinking of the other gunshop, Island View had some of the cheapest gun prices around, at least when I worked there they did. As far as ammo prices, the other range also charged more.

I'm sad to see this range go under. For indoor, it was the best one close to me. I bought a few guns there at much lower prices than Turner's. The down side was their lack of in stock options.

yep, I remember that, ordering was a little bit of a hassle too. I was low on the totem pole but I definitely remember not overcharging people.

I'd have to agree with fcolemencod to an extent. While their gun prices were competitive, their ammo prices couldn't even come close to Wally World which I know isn't exactly fair given Walmart has the benefit of buying in volume but the point is it's pretty easy to beat them on ammo prices.

Also, their range fees were pretty high compared to our other indoor range in the area but their facility was hands down better so you do get what you pay for to a degree but paying double the price to put holes in paper wasn't my idea of fun.

And lastly, their transfer fees for internet purchases were outrageous ($150!). I get the need to try and make a buck but hugely overcharging compared to all other stores in the area tells me that they were in the business of making money first and servicing customers with a need a far second (or third?). Again I get that a business needs to be profitable or it can't continue but these things are what kept me from being a loyal patron. Like colemen said, I didn't get mad about these things, I just took my money elsewhere. Maybe if they were able to enitce people like me (who don't mind spending a grand or two per year on my favorite pastime but still look for ways to stretch it) a bit more they would still be in business.

Just to reiterate, gun prices were good. Range fees, ammo prices and transfers definitely shop elsewhere.
