Hello Everyone,

It's that time again, time for the monthly W. LA shoot @ LAX Range!
Raffle tickets, check!
Date/Time confirmed, check!
We'll have some Calgunners talking up their experiences at the Indoor Glock Sports Shooting Federation event, and rumor has it I might be bringing a big-bore AR to the event as well! (Hello, .50 Beowulf!)

Join us at LAX Firing Range (not the airport) in Inglewood (927 West Manchester Blvd, Inglewood) on 05/08/2013 @ 7:00 PM. We're excited to team up with LAX, and they in turn have extended a discount of 10% off any in store factory ammunition not already discounted to all Calgunners.

Parking is limited, but don't fret parking is allowed at the car wash next door after hours, and there are always the lovely "safe" streets of Inglewood.

The Raffle

Don't have the tickets yet (as per above), but that will get worked out later. You can still sign in and get with RoundEye for a make-up ticket later! The drawing will be held at the last shoot of the year held at the Firing Line in Burbank.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - High Powered Rifles up to a 50 BMG are permitted with the use of range ammunition..
Shotguns - Shotguns are also permitted, again, only with the use of range ammunition.
Cost - $10.00, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on factory ammo and rentals.
** LAX members are free to attend.
*** If you've never been to LAX you'll need to purchase a shooting card for $2. This is a one time fee for new (to the range shooters).

REMINDER: - When you're there, your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

They'll be reserving several lanes for us on their main range, but we will have to share the range with other walk on shooters. If there are others present, I urge you to engage them in conversations about Calguns, and why you choose to attend these types of events. They have a huge "pro shop" with tons of items available for purchase as well as a couch and multiple TVs.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Wednesday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

Finally completed my first AR style rifle. Iron sights will arrive Monday. Good time to break it in and zero the sights.

Also bought a G21 from another calgunner but jailed til 5/09

Up to .50 BMG is allowed at LAX... but I only have 20 of the precious .50 Beo JHP's.... so unless someone can tell me where to get more (in stock!) it'll be a short shoot.

I'd like to sign up to attend the event. Just finished a handgun safety class and got my HSC today, so now I want to try out a few different gun rentals before making a first purchase.

This'll be my first time at one of the events, how does one go about identifying themselves as a Calguns forum member and getting the membership prices on rentals and ammo?

I'm hoping it'll be something a little more subtle then holding a cardboard sign above my head that says "I AM KALAKAUA".

I'm not sure about rentals but you'll just pay $10 for the range fee (+2 if no shooting card, one time fee)
As long as you mention you are with Calguns
And most likely other calgunners like myself will let you shoot their guns.
Just go "I AM KALAKAUA!"

Thanks, but not sure if you're trolling or not, haha. Is 25 yards not adequate for zeroing for the range? I'd then zero it for longer distance when I can get to a range that is longer.

I've just completed my basic hand gun course, and am contemplating purchasing my first hand gun. My work colleague "Kalakaua" has recently signed up, and I'm also interested in attending if that's ok?

Shooter List modified. I will be sorefeet-on-the-ground @7:00pm, looking worn out and suitably corporate. Feel free to come up to the short paunchy asian guy IT looking guy with a gunbag and OD greed backpack w/ free calguns.net stickers and identify yourself. If I'm late, the range personnel know about calguns, just tell them you're with the Calguns shoot to get the discount.

Two more things:

1) I *WILL* print out about 20 of the zero targets for anyone who needs them. (FREEEEeeeeee....)

2) I am listing my firearms I will have with me that are available for people to try. BuyYourOwnAmmo if you want to shoot more than 5 rounds, though.
a) Taurus PT92 9mm Pistol
b) LWRC AR-15 type "Pistol"
c) Mega Arms/VLTOR AR-15 type "Pistol"
d) New Frontier Arms multical AR-15 Rifle (5.56 and .50 Beowulf, limit one round / person for big bore)

And any ammo you want to kick over to the new shooters I will expressly reserve for the new shooters (and likely kick in a few myself!) I will have the 5.56 pistols as well as a 5.56 AR upper that fits on the lower the Beo comes with. Hoping to pick up tomorrow and get some break-in rounds at LAGC tomorrow night.

Just talked to mrsfunnybookz (yes that's her CGN username, hasn't posted yet that I know of) and barring any hiccups in plans, we'll be there with my freshly built AR. Any idea what the ranges prices are on .223/ 5.56?

I may print up some zombie targets that feature artwork from a graphic novel I'm currently working on. Anyone interested? They'll be about 22x34. I think it'll cost about $2-3 to print each one. Its more than what the normal range targets cost, but if there is enough interest, maybe I can get a large enough quantity printed next time that they'll be cheaper. Let me know and I'll post some of the art I was thinking of.

There are 2 monthly indoor shoots in LA, and this is the one that allows rifle calibers indoors. Plenty of AR and pistol action (.50 BMG upper limit at LAX)

Aww shucks I've been wanting to go to a meet up, especially since I'm an annual member at LAX and I just finished my AR build last week. Busy tonight, hopefully next time :/
