Default looking for large-format vacuum sealer?

Is it possible to use a consumer-grade vacuum packing machine (of any brand, I don't own one yet) to vacuum pack something the size of a case of shotgun ammo?

I've looked, but I haven't found any bags large enough.

I doubt it can be easily done on consumer grade equipment designed to vacpac a steak. A 25 Shell box at a time, sure, easily, but a case would be a challenge based on consumer bag sizes....not impossible, just inconvenient and clumsy with the unit I use.

Check out the VacMaster at Waltons. The $700 unit might the trick.

Yeah... for that much coin, I'll just buy ammo cans and do some manual labor. :-)

Ammo cans are reusable.
Plus they stack.
You can add desicant if you want.

I use these to pack bulky things like comforters, winter clothes, etc. Works great if you have a good vacuum. I wouldn't use it for food though.

I bought one from a meat processor that went broke and they auctioned everything off. Also bought a meat grinder and sausage maker.

It does 24" by 22" stuff and is really fast. New they are over 5 grand and I would never buy one new. I paid a tenth of that.

I find vacuum seal doesn’t hold over time. Especially for odd shaped packages. Flat stuff holds longer. Square stuff not that long.

I use those all over my house for fabric type storage, but I don't think they'd work well for long term ammo hoarding. :-)

I'll stick with cans. Thanks, all, for the advice.
