Talking SAVAGE MARK II

I see a bunch of stuff for 10/22's and marlins but where are the mark ii owners. everytime i step to the range i get other shooters telling me it was on there list for a bolt 22, i bought it cause i was told a good many things about savage arms. is there some drawback i missed in research and have yet to come across in my shooting? if you have one lemme know how your liking it and if you've found any aftermarket on it.

I just picked up my Mark II FV-SR. Dropped it into a Boyds stock, scope and everything should be here by Friday at the latest, plan on shooting it for the first time this weekend. I have a build thread going so I will post results there, and if I remember I will add a link or pm you.

By aftermarket do you mean parts or resale value? For parts there is a ton of stuff. Boyds has a full line of various stocks, DIP has great bottom metal that is like 4x as thick as the stock, and even 20-25MOA bases. Everything else you need (scope/rings/bipod/sling/riser) is all generic.

Here is how it sits so far:

I wanted a bolt action for Appleseed, and while my first choice was a CZ, I decided it was more appropriate to use a US-made rifle for Appleseed. I pick mine up on Friday.

there's a Savage MKII F in there some where

its a centerfire replica stock of a Sig Sauer Blaser Tactical 2 using an AR15 CASV upper rail, Bushnell Banner 3x9-50, bipod, 10/22 flash hider, built in monopod
still need to chop off that bolt knob and put in a thicker one

thanks man. would be nicer if i had a thicker fluted barrel.

i paid $220 when it first came out.

now i see them for like $160 on airsoft sites like evike.com, airsplat.com, airsoftmegastore.com, airsoftgi.com

ill be doing more .22 conversions using the Savage MKII. 2-3 will be using bullpup stocks from scratch. so look out for that

I have an FVT in a RIchards MicroFit stock, adjustable butt plate, bipod, scoped. VERY accurate. Modified (lightened and polished) trigger.

If you want more info on them go to Rimfirecentral.com. There's a section on just these rifles and proven modifications.

All kinds of stocks for the MKII and other brands. I own 4 of their stocks, all were drop in fits. http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/Replac...ctions-s/4.htm

The FV-SR is standard with the threaded barrel.

Yeah go with the FV-SR. Its a 16.5" barrel, the TR is a 22" threaded barrel, but there is no velocity difference between the two, so why add weight/length?
