This...you have to earn the uniform..

I remember when my oldest son, now 11 at the time 9, wanted to dress up like a soldier for halloween. So we got him some desert cami's, and he wanted me to wear my old BDUs with him. I had to explain to him it wasn't a costume, it was a uniform and I wouldn't do it. My wife thought I was being mean...but it just didn't feel right.

I hunt in Marine Marpat. Many in my family have fought for this country and I carry the highest respect for all that serve. I don't pretend to be in the Military, nor do I wear any kind of patches or name tags. I simply love the pattern and it works very well for me.

There is no problem with that. I use a multicam top while hunting its just the people who try being something their are not nor they ever will be.

I agree totally. I do wear a small pin on my hat that is the army flag crossing the American flag. It's not for me. It is however in honor of past service of my Father, uncles, Grandfathers and present service of my son in law. I am one of only two boys in my family that didn't serv.

Went to Shakey's today for lunch and saw a Marine in dress blues wearing E-3. White gloves, the works. My 7-year old daughter wanted to go talk to him but did not know what to say. I told her to ask to see his CAC card. He didn't know what that was.

Its not said all the time nor used in everyday language , the cac card.

I'm reserve inactive and do IT work and we had generals and birdies that gave me blank face when I asked for their cac card.

I've seen O-5 and up who could not field strip ANY weapon except maybe a bayonet. But if you wear anything under E-6, you know the game.

I didn't even think it was a standard beret flash, as there are no 13 stars on it.

I've only wore my fancy blues three times, and it wasn't at a fast food joint.

I think the big red flag for someone in a dress uniform in the open public would be they are alone.

is the picture bad or is his beret black? with the SF crest on it. not sure but still an idiot.

i wear my old DCU's pants on the way to duck hunting and in classes i take. they are comfortable and no longer a current uniform. i have worn my ACU's with no rank or US ARMY just name tape on my hat. it helps with ID on the range.

that depends. you never know where they are going. now if the uniform is way F'd up and does'nt pass the smell test then yeah there is something wrong.

i hardly wear by Class A's anymore but i have been alone before getting gas or getting something at 7/11 near the base never worried about someone telling me i'm not in the service.
