Not much data available. Most pistol data you find used 473AA. Older Winchester data used 452AA with lead bullets. 40 SW wasn't in existence when 452AA was discontinued.
Speer manual #11 has a little data:
9MM--452AA--124gr TMJ--start 4.9-1064 fps---maximum 5.4-1142fps
- the only load listed in 9MM with any bullet weight
38 Special
-148gr Hollow Base W.C lead---452 AA--start 2.8-772fps--max 3.1-802fps
-158gr. semi-WC, 158 RN, semi WC HP lead bullet 452AA start 3.6-763-max 4.0-842 fps
-110gr. jacketed HP 452AA start 4.5-934fps Maximum (+P) 5.4-1072fps
-125gr jacketed Soft Point and HP---452AA start 4.3-877 fps--max (+P) 5.1-968 fps no other bullet weights used 452AA
357 Magnum
-148 Hollow Base WC lead---452AA--start 3.0-758fps---max 3.3--812 fps
-158gr semi WC and Semi-WC HP lead--452AA--start 5.0-960 max 5.5-1004
-110gr jacketed HP --452 AA--start 12.5-1434fps----max 13.5-1488 fps
-125 jacketed SP and HP--452AA-start 10.5-1261---max--11.5-1349 fps
no other loads listed
45 auto ACP
--speer 185 TMJ Match--452AA start 4.3-757--maximum-4.7--819 fps
--speer 200 TMJ Combat--452AA start 5.0-841 fps--max 5.5--898 fps
--200 gr HP---452AA--start 5.0-868 fps---max 5.5--916 fps
--230 gr TMJ--452AA--start 4.7-760 fps---max--5.3--825 fps
Be extremely careful using this data. As you can see the min and max on the loads are close together , this is OLD Speer data using their bullets which some are discontinued. They used CCI 500 and CCI 300 primers. Use with caution and at your own risk.

Dang trap shooters.
I've got (pot shooter) buddies that are still always on the look-out long discontinued powder, Activ hulls etc...

Default Trap 100

I acquired a box, well actually a plastic bag full of Trap 100 in a box, in a bunch of stuff from my shooting buddies estate. It was still fresh and because there was so much of it, I'm going to try and use it.

Small lots of 1 pound or less, or half cans, isn't worth the bother. I spread about 10 pounds of odds and sods on the garden, to get rid of it.

Hodgdon had data for Trap 100. I have #23, and it contains a fair amount of data. I was tempted to garden the lot, but given the supply shortage of powder here in Canada, I'm glad I didn't.

WW 452 and Trap 100 were the same powder, according to any information I can find, and my can of WW 452 looks the same as Trap 100. However WW 452 data for pistols is rather scarce, so I rely on my old Hodgdon books for data.

Trap 100 (WW 452) is very nearly in the same burn rate slot as WW 231. If you look at them side by each, they are the same color, grain size is much different.

In the pressure range up to 20,000 psi, load data for Trap 100 is very similar to WW 231 data. I wouldn't hesitate using WW 231 data (starting or mid pressure) for a Trap 100 loading.

There is one caution I would like to add, if you are going to load Trap 100 or WW 452 in the 357 Magnum, use a Magnum primer. The case capacity of the 357 is large enough, that problems can arise with small charges of fast burning powder.

My load for the 357 consists of a CCI 550, 4.0 grains of Trap 100, and a Speer 158 gr SWC HP. The Hodgdon manual #23 lists it as the max load, 3.0 gr is the starting, and they use a SPM primer.

Most powders are discontinued for a reason, I'm sure there were some problems with WW 452 and Trap 100, and not knowing what those problems were, I'll avoid any "Hot" loads. The 4.0 gr load is listed as being 17,100 CUP, should be plenty of safety margin there.

Unfortunately, I've got about 5 pounds of the stuff, and at 4.0 grains a pop, it's going to last awhile.
