Default Sac river salmon

Anyone catching salmon on the sac river lately? I have heard the fishing is pretty good right now.

This is the time of year, I remember from my times fishing the Oroville Lake Spillway, and the pool that it dumped into, closed to fishing now.

Heard the Sac is supposed to be pretty good right now. I'm closer to the American river. Went to check it out and didn't a single salmon roll or jump in about an hour.

Cruising the river road a few days last week heading east from Sac there were many boats on the water from Rio Vista bridge to Isleton and Locke.
I even spied many a ski boat trolling a few rods.

A push of fish came up the river near Sac earlier this week. Silvertrons with dropper is the rule of thumb. In the Feather or upper sac it's the K14-16 kwikfish with sardine wrapper.

We fished for them by plugging with silver or gold crocodile cast masters, or by soaking a salmon egg on an 18"-36" leader, topped with a red bead and splitshot weight. We though that the salmon weren't interested in feeding, they either had to breath/suck the egg bait down, or take or strike the bait or lure by a reflex bite. Hey, but what the heck did we know.
