Default Black Labrador 6 months old

Murdock my 6 month old male Black Labrador mixed with Chinese Shar Pei needs a new home. Have to move and can't take him with me. Unfortunately his tail was cropped before I took ownership of him. He sits, stays and retrieves. Very playful very friendly, love to give and receive affection. He is non aggressive. He has all his shots plus flu and lime. Also comes with kennel, gate enclosure, to outside dog bowls, stainless steel inside home bowls, dog food container, three drawer shelf for storing his things, water reservoir, toys and tuff stuff bed. Buying this dog from a breeder would cost over a thousand dollars. I'm asking $500 obo to offset the spending calls that my teenager spent getting the puppy his shots and all other items listed. We are located in the East Bay Area

Location might help with the re-homing OP...
sorry to see you have to give up your pup. We just had to put down our lab.

I hope you find a home for him. If you don't have any takers, consider working with a lab rescue group.

This is my first time posting on Calguns. I try posting on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist and they flagged my ads because they don't allow the sale of animals. We are located in the Bay Area on the East Bay Side.

Selling? You should be thankful to whomever rescues the dog. Maybe even offer some $$ to the new owner for a wonderful new home.

That's not something OP would want to do. Dogfighting rings will pick up free animals to use as training tools for their pit fighters.

Hmm looks like he has some pit in him.
Good luck with your search.
We are getting ready to start our search for a new pup.
Finally have a sweet 1/3acre back yard and just need to get everything prepped for a new addition.

No way,

Had me interested until I saw your asking price. You are way overpriced like $500.

Murdoch is mixed with Chinese Shar-Pei. His tail was already cropped when we got him. $500 as not asking a lot, I am trying to offset the money my teenager spent on some of the things that the dog needed. His shots alone were $400, his kennel was $80, the outside gated kennel enclosure was purchase used for $150. And then he has his toys his two sets of dog bowls his food bin and other items. For someone who wants a black lab to use for waterfowl hunting you would spend in the thousands to purchase this dog.

i hope so too, since OP is clearly not responsible enough to own a dog.

this isn't some item you can upgrade and add value to, it's a living thing. do you understand how ridiculous it is to try and pass on the cost you've sunk into this animal onto another person?

your number one priority should be finding this dog a good home, not trying to recoup the money you sank into him.

OP: Seriously. You do not have a lab by your own admission. It's a mutt/mixed breed. I'm sure a nice one, but still a mutt. He may be a great dog, but I don't think you'll ever find anyone to pay 500 for him, even with all he other things thrown in. Find him a good home, be happy in that, and write the rest off to experience or whatever. At best, charge what the local animal shelter charges just to weed out the really flaky people.

I am sure he is a fine pooch. But, as someone that has had a professionally trained Labrador retriever, I can tell you that you do not have that. Probably nowhere near that. Simply being part retriever does not automatically equate to a dog worth thousands, or even a dog that will retrieve. And at his age without training, he may not be a bird dog at all. Add to that breeding a Shar-Pei with a lab degrades the laid back friendliness of the lab being that a SP can be territorial and aggressive.

All that said, I hope you can find a home suitable for him. Personally I would forget about recouping any monies spent and find him a forever family that fits his personality and temperament.
