I haven't been to Knott's during the daytime since last year, so I can't speak to the current environment, but I can tell you the teenage "security guard" at Scary Farm, 3 years ago, had his little hand-wand cranked so high it found a dang ketchup packet in the cargo pocket of my pants.
I also find it very funny that they think metal detectors at the front door will do any good when the "west entrance" is a wrought-iron fence with access to the sidewalk and is usually left unattended. Not hard to pass some weaponry between the bars. |

Last time I went, I had called Knotts and confirmed that they allow CCW, just show the security your CCW permit, I was told.
I showed the security my CCW permit before he started to wand me. He stared at it blankly then said ok and continued to wand me. I was carrying my shield and extra mag at appendix. The wand did not go off. I found that strange because the girl in little booty shorts in front of me set it off... This was around Halloween of 2016. Maybe things have changed. |

Went after Christmas for LE day. They did wand and have a walk through detector. They detected my belt buckle and the change in my pocket very well. No guns allowed, even for police. Personally, all they did was make those 2 months where it was the safest park in the world to another park where you are at the mercy of evil doers.

Pro tip: If you don't want to wait or pay more for the sit down experience, go to the take out counter next door, and you get the same thing for cheaper.
I've seen people just buy the bucket then eat it inside the park or just find a table outside by the shops and eat the same thing for cheaper.

Was doing the takeout thing for many moons when I lived in signal hill/Long Beach. Its not Dinah’s fried chicken, but it’s good. |

There are so many places I want to try, including Gus' famous fried chicken, honey kettle, and howling ray's. So much food, so little time.

I was there yesterday. Still walk-through detectors and wanding if you make the walk-through beep. The bag check is more through than DL’s but not stellar.
During police and fire days you skip the box office and go straight to the gate with you I.D. if it’s just you and a guest. The park was slow. |
