Become a certified USPSA RO this weekend at CTA
California Tactical Academy will be hosting a Deadwood Boys USPSA NROI RO seminar this weekend, September 29-30 at its outdoor shooting range in Piru, Ventura County.
Take your USPSA knowledge to the next level by becoming an NROI-certified Range Officer. In this 2-day course, you will learn the ins and outs of the rulebook, division equipment, range equipment, stage design and construction, range commands, and range safety. Upon passing the test at the end of this course you will be certified as a USPSA RO and not only will have greater knowledge of the sport, but you will be able to work (get paid) to RO major USPSA matches around the country. Here is the USPSA Registration link (you MUST register here before paying your course fees): https://uspsa.org/seminars/details/75 Course fee: $80 Schedule: Saturday – Full day in the classroom (bring a lunch as we will have a working lunch) Sunday – Morning will be final classroom session. Afternoon will be practical applications on the range so please bring your equipment. About NROI The United States National Range Officers Institute was designed to establish a structure for the creation, accreditation, recognition, and maintenance for USPSA members wishing to become match officials. Following the goals of the Range Officer Creed, the organization ensures that Range Officers are the best trained, the best qualified, and the best prepared, to a same world-wide standard, in conjunction with IPSC/IROA officials. There exists a direct relationship between the quality of the officiating, and the quality of the competition. Officials can enjoy the camaraderie of their fellow staff, and be proud to be a part of the fraternity of officiating. The Purpose and Goals of NROI Establish national training standards for Range Officials. Advise on aspects relating to the safe conduct of competition. Advise on rules of competition and principles of good course design. Certify and recertify Officials. Serve and support local and national USPSA matches. Where relevant, offer support for international matches. Dates: September 29th- 30th, 2018 Times: 8am-5pm both days Equipment needed for Saturday is just a pen and a notebook. The shooter will need their shooting gear on Sunday and a small amount of ammo (100 rounds).
