I used one for several years until I was able to upgrade to something a little better last year. The Stack-ons are OK. Not fire proof or exactly burglar proof, but certainly better than nothing. With a hammer and a good sized screwdriver you could break into one within 10 minutes. Keep it bolted to the wall and to the floor or it might just walk away.

They're fine for keeping young kids out and frustrating thieves who are short on time. I'm also not a big fan of safes / lockers that require a key. I remember when I was young, it wasn't hard to figure out where my Dad kept the key to his gun cabinet. Personally I prefer a combination lock.

I finally upgraded to a Sentry safe. Not too expensive. The interior is much better, heavier gauge steel, combination lock, and you're not going to rip it open with a screwdriver and hammer. Get a safe larger than you think you'll need. Some how they keep multiplying in there.

this safe actually has a combination lock and lever. and has three thick looking bolts. It looks better than the steel "cabnits" that I"ve seen.

Default GS-16 is OK

I purchased one (GS-416) through the Sportmans Guide. Mechanical lock feels a little cheap, but will slow down kids trying to guess numbers. Have not tried their electronic lock versions. They are sturdy and heavy: like a safe. Bolt down for earthquakes and stronger thieves.
