Default 10 dollar a month dsl california

im a total cheap skate and have never paid for a second of high speed internet. i have been mooching off an unsecured signal for the past 5 plus years and my luck finally ran out the signal has been locked up. so my quest for cheap access began last week. i stumbled upon this att deal for 10 a month. when they took over sbc the fcc mandated them to sell dsl at cost for a minimum of 2 years. the offer ends december of this year. you have to get into a one year contract and buy a modem for 62 or a modem router combo for 82. my quick math told of that i could not do any better. just a heads up for those of you that need a dsl line.

HA! I'm getting my wireless free right now! I'm in Big Bear and there are 3 unsecure wireless systems around me!
Of course when I get home I'm on DSL.

Not bad at all. Nice for people to save some cash for a year. DSL was plenty fast for me back when I had it, but the move to cable really spoiled me.

Hrm...Not bad if you don't care about speed and price is the only thing.

Even if I wasn't an employee, I must say 50mbit down/10mbit up cable has spoiled the crap out of me.

Thank you employee discounts, for I love you lots.

You maybe a cheap skate but your not very resourceful. I have a big antenna on my roof that rotates and I can pull in over 1,300 unsecure wireless networks.

Scotty we need more power!

A Netstumbler screen cap would compliment this post very well.

Let me know (PM me) if you need a DSL modem. I think I have an extra SpeedStream 4100 (at&t) you can have.

I used this service for two years. It's only 768 Kbps downstream, slightly too slow to watch Hulu or Youtube HQ (have to pause and let it cache). Plus the Motorola DSL modem they sold me would overheat and refuse to work if it was on longer than a few hours. I switched to DSLExtreme because it was cheaper than getting a new modem.
