Default Article: NRA gains upper hand on Obama

The Hill / Briefing Room:

NRA gains upper hand on Obama
By Mike Lillis - 03/24/13 06:00 AM

Quote:
After a series of missteps that gave President Obama the early advantage in this year's gun-violence debate, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has struck back.
Quote:
An assault weapons ban is on life support and Senate Democrats have failed to entice a single Republican to back universal background checks. Congress also this week solidified four gun-friendly laws as part of legislation to fund the government through September.

It's a Trap.

Registration, in any form, is what the Obama Regime was after.

The "Assault Weapons Ban" is a political distraction to enable the passage of Registration.

Everyone needs to pay attention to the wannabe dictator, Bloomberg, he's the thorn in the butt right now.

I somewhat agree.

Neutering magazine capacity PLUS registration was the original goal,
with the "Assault Weapons Ban" used as misdirection.

If they can regulate magazine capacity on a whim, they can effectively neutralize
the Second Amendment... 30 rounds to 10 then 7 then 5. Ultimately to 1 or 0.

At least that's my take on it.

I posted this in another thread, but it aligns with your comment as well:

Bloomberg had to purchase his last election.

If I remember correctly, he had to spend $172 for each vote he garnered,
from his own pocket. Not to mention what he did with the legislature so
he could run again.

If you love your freedoms, Bloomberg is not your friend.

My belief is that Bloomberg is merely misguided in his crusades. In his mind,
it's all for the greater good. Classic example of "the road to hell is paved
with good intentions".

Unfortunately Bloomberg will do whatever it takes for what he considers to be
the "greater good". For example, do not trust any research on gun control
coming out of John Hopkins:

Quote:
“The modern story of Hopkins is inextricably linked to him,” said Ronald J. Daniels, the university’s president, as he walked around the campus recently. “When you look at these great investments that have transformed American higher education, it’s Rockefeller, it’s Carnegie, it’s Mellon, it’s Stanford — and it’s Bloomberg.”

Hopkins, in return, has become something of a brain trust for Mr. Bloomberg, shaping his approach to issues like cigarette smoking, gun violence and obesity.

And what they can't do federally, they will do state by state. Just ask NY and CO. CA is next on the list.
